*SINFUL HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

It's the penultimate episode and in true fashion, this show does not follow convention! Yoshiki is still trying to get to the bottom of "what" Nonuki truly is; meanwhile, "Hikaru" is slowly despairing that his presence is more harm than good....all the while admitting he just doesn't want to be alone and wants to belong...but is that possible for an eldritch monster?

I’m so sad to see this season coming to an end. Thankfully season 2 got that official announcement! I would absolutely love to see your reactions to the manga and behind the scenes! If you want to stay blind for the anime, you can read the first five full volumes and stop there :)

its interesting how Gehenna is generally related to christianism and the other villages around the one that Yoshiki and Hikaru live in are christian hmmm

the guilt hikaru feels... he has really taken the label "monster" to heart, whereas earlier in the season, he didn't seem to really identify with it 💔💔💔 i wonder if yoshiki as a child, already identified with the "monster" characters because he already felt different in some way even when he was young💔 It's funny because when you were talking about this, it brought up the movie Megamind to me with the somewhat similar themes.. maybe yoshiki would like to watch it😭😭😭 also.. doomed dads yaoi for real 💔💔 Yoshiki's dad saying "felt like everything good disappeared with him" really tore up my heart, especially considering we saw that hikaru's dad was still alive when yoshiki was a younger boy.. (ep 4 i think) 💔 saying "everything good disappeared" when yoshiki's dad already had a wife and child at that time... ouch.. angst all around.. 😭 they should just call kubitachi mountain "the mountain of unresolved feelings" 😭😭

Yessss, so I'm going to talk about it Sunday - I want to wait on the manga now that we have season 2 confirmed and like I'm doing with JJK and CSM, I will build up the manga reactions/reviews to before season 2 comes out - however, that is GREAT to know that I can check out the first five volumes - I can plan around that so thank youuuu! :DI I'm not ready for the hiatus!

I hate that Hikaru has taken that monster label to mean him…it’s sad. And yes, I think that way that Yoshiki chose the monster because it was something he connected with. I can so see the Megamind connection! I need a doujin where the two of them watch it together! DOOMED YAOI DADS - ugh, too real. It was so sad when Yoshiki’s dad said that. :( And yeah, angst all around! And THE MOUNTAIN OF UNRESOLVED FEELINGS feels too subtle and kind, but so true!

Oooh, a manga review-recap buildup before season 2 would be a lot of fun! The manga should wrap up in about a year and a half give or take (10 planned volumes and we’re halfway through volume 8, with 2 volume releases per year), so I’m hoping season 2 is only about two years out. Maybe three. I’ll be excited to see your reactions and deep dives! The hiatus is gunna be hard :’D And yup! Looks like the animation studio planned the pacing for each season to cover exactly 5 volumes each which is nice!

Yesss, that's good to know there's that planned; I'm definitely open to waiting because the show is THAT good and it's going to be exciting to wait and see how it's all going to plan out! That is exciting! Thank you for the information - the hiatus will be hard but that means I'll just have to watch some good shows to make the wait go by faster! :D
