Gotta love that classic villain laugh Yan Wushi has going on 😁 Yan Wushi showing up at the fortune telling table is honestly one of my favorite scenes in the whole donghua! It’s hard not to have fun with how brazen Yan Wushi is being! I’m glad to hear that both of the MCs are growing on you! I enjoyed hearing your predictions for where things might go, and am looking forward to the next episode! Thanks for the video!

I’ve only seen the mention eating donkeys in two novels from China. I never thought to look it up but I did now. Apparently according to a new article I found on the internet it’s a delicacy up in the north and donkey burgers (驴肉火烧, lǘròu huǒshāo) are a real thing (according to a second article it’s like corned beef). There’s even a folk saying referenced in multiple articles “In heaven, there is dragon meat; on earth, there is donkey meat” (天上龙肉，地上驴肉). And allegedly the practice started because there was a famine and as people ran out of food they had to make the choice between eating donkeys and horse, horse were considered more valuable thus donkeys were eaten. This is definitely the spark notes/top of the iceberg I’m sure there’s more cultural nuance. But I’d be down to try it.
