Not the crossover I expected but a welcome one nonetheless! Extremely interesting watching you watch this with no context for who/what Bo Burnham is. He rose to fame pretty quickly with his silly songs on youtube getting massive amounts of views starting when he was 16 (That video of himself he's watching in Problematic is one of the youtube videos, and that song is about the reckoning or lack thereof he's faced for questionable edgy things he joked about as a teen.) This special is quite an artistic achievement IMO, and Bo captures that great tonal whiplash between comedy and sorrow. I've followed him since the youtube days and seen him live several times, he's a must-see if he comes to a city near you on tour... if he ever tours again. I'd happily watch you react to other Bo specials and whatnot, though it's definitely a departure from your usual :P

Loved the reaction and discussion! This was a really fun experience – especially with the fact that you were unaware of what was coming and his style of performance and humour. 😆 I especially find the sheer musicality of what he puts together just really fun to listen to regardless of the content. If you were ever interested in more performers in this particular vein – Tim Minchin and Reggie Watts are definitely some I would recommend. I think my favourite song is still How the World Works with Socko. Free Socko! Now themes of resistance?! I mean… “A little bit of everything! All of the time!” 😆 Here to me the most interesting form of resistance is what you noted about him speaking from a place of utter and complete sincerity, especially to his own experience. That kind of honesty is true defiance against our current reality, I feel. Also… I guess it was Bo inside Angel’s Egg all along... I will see myself out. 🤣 Thank you to Nicolas for another amazing commission! 🥰 Looking forward to the next entry! 💙

Oh yeah, I had no idea who this man was - probably because I’ve mainly just watched my channel shows for five years haha!! But that is interesting about the reference to himself you pointed out! I really loved this special and totally agree it’s an artistic achievement! I really would see him if he was close to me! Honestly, if I get time to, I wouldn’t mind to react to more from him - this was definitely a treat! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! Going into this blind was an EXPERIENCE! I was not aware of what I was about to watch, but I definitely want more!! I may have to get into some of his other things in the future! Oohh, and thank you for the recommendation of the performers - that style definitely rang a chord with me, so I may have to give them a listen! And FREE SOCKO!! This poor dude. I honestly appreciated how he was talking so earnestly about his experience as a content creator and how he felt during the pandemic – it was so relatable! Themes of resistance aplenty! And the ANGEL’S EGG CROSSOVER! I just love that! Nicolas did REALLY well on this commission and their one for December, just saying! So excited for the reactions to come! Thank you for the comment!

Subscribed just for the full length of this and it's so amazing to see someone who truly gets it! I've seen so many reactions of people laughing along and dancing to 'welcome to the internet' for example. But you it was just this creeping sense of dread which is exactly how I felt. Such a powerful special of his slowly crumbling mental state, it's incredible!
