I’m still trying to catch up with WB reactions but omg YESSS- we’ve already reached this episode! My how time flies- already half through the first season… well a little more haha. I agree, Togame is such a wonderfully layered character indeed. Perhaps I was too quick to judge at first 😔 Love how much you’re enjoying this series ❤️ This show is so rich with characters and I think that’s one of its greatest strength. While I don’t personally tune in with the fight scenes.. WB is one I do! LOVE the “conversation” aspect Umemiya talks about being showcased here. It’s not everyday I see a fight where we see two individuals get to understand- or rather get to know more about the other. But yeah, Shishitorin could have easily not had characters with any depth (superficial antagonist) but I’m so glad the creator didn’t take that route. LOVE Sako-chan 🥺🧡 Yk I forgot to mention but ironically this is one series I rarely have ships with. I guess it’s a rarity because I love the friendships between guys being depicted here so much. There’s only one in mind & honestly many would support 😅 One of my only ships thus far is Unemiya x Hiragi! They’re such parent coded with the rest of the Furin kids & I find it so cute. But enough said I’m watch the rest of the reactions.

Ah the episode that started my Sakura x Togame shipping heart ❤️ I'm so glad you like Togame, he's not as much of a bad guy you think he is in the beginning and is just a guy putting too much on himself to protect the one thing that makes him happy. Wind Breaker is a really good character driven story. I always like to say that WB isn't about the fights, it's about the characters and some people don't like that I guess but then the story isn't for them anyway.

Loved the reaction and discussion! Adore this episode! And that thumbnail is one of my favourite Togame frames, that profile is everything. 🥰 Various things I loved: Agree with loving how gruesome the fight was in this episode. My “favourite” was Sakura rolling around trying to avoid being stomped on 😅 Togame going: “I want to take my time and enjoy this” - they just can’t give us a break 😆 Nirei trying to handle watching the fights continues to be the most relatable Also, memory is a funny thing 😆 – back in episode 3 you came to the conclusion about the Othello game yourself as soon as it came up. Loved the analysis of Togame’s entire outfit! Never considered the sandals > geta progression in those terms before! 🥰 “Sugi isn’t known for his monologues” – I pictured a Sugi-face reaction to that 🤣 Togame choosing to get “covered in mud” for Choji and Shishitoren is just such a beautiful reveal for a character. And I particularly loved how sensitive Togame was to any slight against his “devotion” – because how dare anyone imply he hasn’t sacrificed and suffered for his dedication. Would definitely have fun playing Wind Breaker bingo in the future. 😆 Cannot wait for next week! Rule of 8! 🌸

I once saw a funny meme on twt with that scene of Sakura avoiding getting stomped and it says "me when I see cockroaches in my room" 😂 agree with the sandals - geta progression, never thought of that either! Sugi not known for monologues... I'm curious of what would happen if we put Sugi who only grunts with Sako who barely responds in a room together... they might end up fighting due to the difference in whom they admire lmao ah Togame... a loyal dedicated soul willing to suffer to protect his team and his sun...

Togame really tricked us all (and the characters themselves) I agreee WB is a great character driven stories! some people just go in for the fights and get bored when there's no fights, but at the core of WB is character growth and fights are just one of the venues for conversations helping along with the growth...

I keep forgetting WB s1 is only 13 episodes! glad there's also an s2 to react to fighting as a conversation to try to know more and understand each other is great, some WB characters are really empathetic! Ah for the ships, I got so many multi ships in WB but I am also totally fine with not a single ship and everything friendship haha, I'd say my OTP is "characters/the love and respect they deserve"

I really love this episode and thanks for the reaction! warning: long comment ahead... Ah that first scene... not a relative but family... Togame's found family 😭 Togame was really that introvert who got adopted by an extrovert lol the op visuals are very nice and the song is a huge bop, i listened to it so much last year... lmao the garden of eden, the seduction of the tomato 😂 That shot of Suo dropping down with a kick in the op was actually what got me into windbreaker! I saw a gif of it online and thought "i gotta see this" horticulture power... reminds me of this old asdf tree power clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OyDK98w77M I like the fight choreo, when Sakura kicked or pushed Togame's arm away, or flipped over him... basically I like how we can see that they have different fighting styles and it's not just one sort of punches or kicks and tanking "he gets a little bit upset" *gives Sakura concussion* so brutal, this fight is on another level compared to the previous ones... if this was not an anime, there's gonna be several concussions and broken ribs going around ... Sakura... it's not healthy to get hit in the head that much... Sound design is great! I agree with the dead silence and that fight song is great too ("Higher I'll Go) The middle schooler thing is interesting cuz I only noticed on rewatch - when they first met in ep3, Togame arrived after the other guys and then Hiragi told Togame that the Shishitoren members were chasing "our guys", so Togame never knew it was an uninvolved middle schooler and thought it was just a fight between Furin and Shishitoren. Togame: sorry for the interruption, had some technical difficulties that I needed to beat out Sakura has been so confused the past few days lol Sakura doesn't know the backstories, he just knows this guy fought for serious, went down to beat some of his teammates and then came back up to beat him halfheartedly lol. Togame is one of my favorites from WB... it was hard to not spoil you on his actual personality before this episode haha the green eyes and kinda fluffy black hair are also a great look hehehe I like the geta analysis, had not thought of it before Togame got so mad... but that moment when choji didn't care about the shishitoren guys getting beaten up and just told him to continue to fight, when Togame paused and we couldn't see his face... that was sad 😭

Right!? I’m really happy that we have more content for RB to see after season one. 😆 and you’re right on the nose with empath. I really adore so many characters in this show. Also about ships. I have a number of ships in each show yet WB is the only one I have the bare minimum. There’s two…. That I can talk about it for now. Ume x Hiragi and me x Togame HAHA- let me stop. But yeah- I really think it’s the way they handle friendship between guys. It’s very wholesome so I don’t really think about the possibility of romance between them. Oh no worries on catching up - you’re here! It’s wild that we’re so far into the first season already!! I really love how layered Togame is - but yes, I’m having SO much fun with the characters in this series, especially! I am JUST like you - normally fight scenes are, “Okay, neat,” but the choreography and care taken with this one and the “conversation” is so well done that it just demands your attention! I love it! I love how much we’ve gotten out of Shishitoren so far! And Sako was so much fun – honestly, it’s a little hard to ship at this point because there’s so many possibilities hahah! But yeahhhh, I can so see the Umemiya and Hiragi ship! Valid! Parent coded for sure!! Thank you for the comment!

Thank you so much - that frame of Togame HAD to be the thumbnail - it was too perfect! He’s just so photogenic, honestly! Sakura avoiding that stomp - I’m so glad, because this was such a bloody fight! I AM Nirei in all of this, essentially! I’m glad on the Othello part - yes, memory is so funny, right? Hunter x Hunter is really testing me on that! Thank you for the kind words on Togame - these characters and their elements are so fun to analyze and explore! I love doing it so much!
