nothing would have happened if Killua just fight Pokkle....instead he had to aura farm and fight illumi. Finally the illumi name reveal i no longer need to say 301. I love how him and Hisoka interacts, such boyfriends behavior. They just have such eerie aura around them which would normally weird ppl out but somehow they just so natural and casual together, they feel equal. I also love the part illumi telling Killua he cant make friends, what's Hisoka to you then... 😏 Last yap about this ship...the last part when illumi ask Hisoka "what are you going to do now?", it really sounds like illumi is asking hisoka out for a meal or a date or sth.....am I too deep in this ship?

Been following the HxH reactions and they're great, love how invested you are despite having partially watched the show before! I just had a few comments about this particular set of episodes. At around the 15:30 mark in the PIP reaction (during episode 20) what I found cool is that in the French subtitled version, when Illumi says "you have the soul of a killer" to Killua, the subtitles read "you're a killer down to the tips of your fingernails" and considering his way of killing... well. It was very on point! To be honest, I don't think Illumi believes that what he's doing to Killua is 'wrong', quite the opposite actually. I assume that in a very twisted way, he genuinely thinks he's 'protecting' Killua from the outside world (like Hunters as you mentioned, or the ones "he can't beat") by manipulating him into giving up and doing what *in Dom Toretto's voice* the Family™ wants him to. Also, Gon's behavior in episode 21 (muttering "none of that matters" then shouting it, how he would not surrender but also not accept Hanzo's defeat during their fight in the previous episode because he didn't feel it was right, etc) reminded me of something a reactor once said about his character: "Gon is selfless but also selfish. He does the noble thing to satisfy himself." I'd add nuance to it but I agree with the overall sentiment. What do you think? Anyway, can't wait for the episodes to come!

Killua's "I want to be friends with Gon. I'm tired of killing people" Broke my heart the first time I watched HxH fr. Like he is twelve!!! He should have fun with his friend!!! And Leorio who loudly stated that Gon for sure thinks of him as his friend already will never not make my emotional. I think this is a good episode to properly see Killua's issues. And how low his selfesteem actually is.

Hahaha, Killua’s aura farming did not pay off, eh? And yes – although, I do love saying Mr. 301, haha, but yes! Illumi and Hisoka are basically boyfriends at this point. They’re so casual around each other - definitely “partner” vibes. And YES - Hisoka really is Illumi’s…friend? F-buddy? “Partner….” In CRIME?! Haha! Pot calling the kettle black for sure. No, I’m as deep as you are into the ship – I found the cannon balls at this point. ;) Thank you for the comment and glad someone else is on board with them!

Thank you so much for following along with my reactions; I am having so much fun! OOHHHHH Down to the tips of the fingernails! That’s SO GOOD! Wow! And yeah, I could see Illumi thinking he’s “protecting” Killua – we know that telling Killua he can’t have friends is…not right, per say, or at least not healthy. And with Gon, I’m pretty sure I said exactly what that reactor said in the discussion, so yes, I do agree! Thanks for the comment! Looking forward to what’s to come as well!

My heart BROKE for Killua in this episode! YES! He’s 12!! Let him have a friend! And then Leorio being so outspoken for Gon! It’s so good - total parental behavior and I live for it! Killua’s self esteem ACTUALLY being critically low, despite how he puts himself out there as so “cool” is so tragic and highly relatable! Thank you for the comment!
