I loved Greek mythology as a kid, but man, I was not ready for the refresher today, as we watch an underrated 80's epic -- with twists, turns, and lots of campy and bloody good fun!

Athens' VA also voices Sailor Neptune! And Ceneka's VA is the same person of Pazu and Kuririn Also I don't know why I like this movie, but I love it It has a lot of flows, especially in the script, but I like it somehow I know MIYAZAKI Hayao is a genius, but comparing this to Castle in the Sky, it's so underrated Though the production company is the same YASUHIKO Yoshikazu isn't famous for a director, he's famous for a character designer He's character designs are kinda DNA of us, Otaku This film is not perfect, but its brightness won't change

Loved the reaction and discussion! This one was completely new to me and was a really fun ride. 🥰 Loved the camp of it overall. My favourite was probably the scene of the red-pink vultures on the cliffside with feathers which were also blossoms, just so stunning. My love of extreme lighting and vivid colouring is being fed so well with these recent commissions! Now, themes of resistance in Greek mythology... 😂 As you said: “We could be here all day!” 😂 But what I actually wanted to point out is how well this works with Vampire Hunter D (1985) as a pair! Between Doris and Arion, there is a really awesome throughline of young plucky characters struggling against predators and corrupt leaders. Tale literally as old as time, I could cry forever, nothing ever changes. 😭 Thank you to Shimoyama for another amazing commission and a whole year of absolutely beautiful selections! I have seen so many new beautiful films because of them and they generated excellent discussions. 🥰 Looking forward to the next entry! 💙

I love that VA fact -- that's really cool on Sailor Neptune, especially - I can hear that now that you say it! This movie is really underrated in my opinion - I can see them being the same production companies, and it was a really fun movie! The Character Design in this is really, really nice - I love how distinct everyone is! And honestly, some of my favorite movies are not "perfect" but that's what makes them special! Thank you so much for the kind words and the comment - sorry I was late getting back to it!

Thank you so much! This was a fun romp, wasn't it!? VERY camp and I loved the 80's of it all, especially those pink vultures - yes! Lots of fun ideas! And COLORS - the 80's saturation is so great. And ESPECIALLY compared with Vampire Hunter D - I hoped it would be a great back to back and it WAS! And yes, I hate that it's a "tale as old as time," but love how Doris and Arion navigate that space in these two stories! Shimoyama has really made some WONDERFUL commissions, many I would have never got the chance to see so I am super grateful! Thank you for the comment and being patient as I get back to these!!
