*CALAMITOUS HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

Calamity and Cyan attempt to escape the orphanage, but the power of "luck" really kicks in to cause a polarized effect for our two musically-inclined orphans and their fates -- and I have SO many questions!

NOTE: Yes, I was frustrated by the end of this episode and the content. It will come off as being mad in the reaction. I've had time to breathe since then and am "Trusting the Process" with TBHX, so I'll do my best to reign in my emotions for Episode 10.

I kind of get the frustration with the end of the ep. if your calculations are correct there was a 2 year time jump and we dont exactly know what Cyan did in that time. The show for whatever reason -either planned or sloppy - didn't show us. Hopefully it will be cleared up satisfactory. That aside though I really loved the ep and as someone brought up in a very strict religious environment her story and being trapped in a cage resonates with me.

Yesss, I definitely will talk about that 2 year gap next episode! It is sad that we haven't seen what's happened during that time in detail or at least through a montage. I do love Cyan's character and the themes of religious oppression that is brought up through it, like you pointed out! Thank you for the comment! Onwards to next week!!

Fun fact: While Cyan has different VAs for each language version and has a dedicated singer for her songs, Luo doesn't have a separate singer and his VAs sing in English in each language version. I think that this episode wants to create a dismal yet unyielding mood in a short span, while the compacted independent arc structure requires a faster pacing to finish a single story, so this episode mainly focuses on Cyan's own development, along with a glimpse of what's to come, instead of showing the process leads up to the outcome as a typical show. I feel like Cyan is a character who didn't have a clear life goal under years of manipulations in her childhood, and she is fulfilling Luo's dream instead. While she has her resolution, she might still be blinded by the people around her due to the lack of social interaction regarding Luo's whereabouts.

Oh really?! That’s an awesome fact about Luo and his singer sounding the same – thanks for sharing that! I do like Cyan as a character a lot and you can tell her environment and upbringing affects a lot of her decisions – there’s some writing and world-building choices I wish had the time in the series to flourish, but at least her character is really likeable and we want to root for her success and happiness!
