OKAY, SO THIS OVA WAS FANTASTIC! I wanted more with Emilia and I not only got some backstory, but with one step forward, we go two steps back with even more questions, more mystery, and enough to make my head spin with theories!

Look...it wouldn't be Re:Zero any other way!

I see this as more of a character piece, getting more into Emilia's character. I remember after finishing Season 1, I was a bit frustrated that Emilia wasn't as prominent in the second half of the season. So, I was quite happy to see this Emilia backstory OVA after the season was over. Its great to go back through Season 1 with this added context. It especially makes me much more emotional at the end of Season 1 when Subaru tells Emilia that he loves her.

Emilia and Puck always remind me of Madoka and Kubey. I could see Emilia in a Magical girl anime.

Puck Master. Very happy you got some of that Emilia focus that you have been craving. I find this series to be a good exercise in patience - whatever thing you may think it's missing, you will most likely get, but it will be more in a "delayed gratification" kind of way. Also, it's nice to see a fellow Melakuera enjoyer. Even in the context of the incredible character cast of Re: Zero, he is still low-key one of my favourites. The design is one thing, but I adore the dialogue that, on the one hand, makes me believe he has some internal thought process behind his actions and that he can be communicated with, but on the other hand, it's very clear that whatever morality and reason he appeals to is very difficult to jive with (which is exactly what you'd expect from an inhuman supernatural flaming horse spirit).
