*END OF SERIES HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

I can't believe that nearly 20 years of a journey with a series is coming to a close...for now, at least! I have a few more videos I want to make about Bleach, but for now, let's talk the end of the series!

First of all, thank you very much for sharing these reactions for free. It's not appreciated enough. I agree with most of your takes, both your criticisms and your praise. I also had a list of the main issues with the arc at the time, and thankfully, the anime adaptation has fixed most of them, especially Uryu's role in the story and the sense of a large-scale final battle that actually seemed to decide the fate of the three worlds. I also really liked that Yhwach's motivations were explored at the end of the second cour. In the manga, we had no idea about them until the very last episode, which I didn't like. What I didn't enjoy were his repetitive and hollow monologues in the added content from this one. Sadly, just like you, I find it unexplainable that the dads didn't take part in that fight, given that they lost their wives because of Yhwach and their children were risking their lives (that being said, we could also argue that they were on the verge of death several times throughout the story while Isshin and Ryuken were off doing whatever they were doing). Urahara and Yoruichi? Their absence from the epilogue is unexplainable too, especially after the added content in which Nell is supposed to have saved them. The same applies to Gerard's defeat. What was the point of showing us additional scenes involving his heart and his cross if that material wasn't going to be used in any meaningful way in the plot? It seems that they are aware of the issues most of the fandom had, but chose not to fix them for whatever reason. Even short cuts giving context could have helped. But overall, I think that, weighing everything up, we all won with this adaptation. The ending, while not exactly great, feels solid, and It leaves a much better aftertaste than the bitter one left by the manga. Just one small nitpick here. Toshiro's body is canonically maturing at an extremely slow pace. It's not simply that he's a short man; his facial features are also those of a child. Kubo confirmed that his body is still out of sync with his mental age and that he is concerned about how slowly he ages. We saw him looking slightly younger when he was living with his granny, around the time Hinamori entered the Academy, and that was decades ago. We also know that he was the youngest captain in history and that, at the very least, he became a captain around 20 years ago, when Isshin left the Soul Society. Even when his complete Bankai was revealed, the Japanese dialogue in the panel refers to a matured body. But we all know that ageing in Soul Society is a mess. Unohana barely changed over the last 1,000 years, whereas Yamamoto became a geezer. Other characters, like Shunsui and Sasakibe, also aged considerably. Even most of the younger characters, like Renji and Rukia, whom we know are ten times older than Ichigo, don't behave like people of that age but rather as if they were around the same age as him. Thank you again! It was great to see your in-depth reviews of these episodes.
