Volume 12 is here, y'all! The time has come to face the reigning prefecture champions, Kainen! Not gonna lie, I am SOOO hyped for this match! The series just keeps amping up!

Not much to say about translation except one part. Kainan coach said Sakuragi is on par with Maki in terms of how much he moves around. Basically pointed out exceptional stamina that Sakuragi got, not that he's more athletic. And last part with Rukawa, Rukawa meant both Sakuragi and Kiyota. As in they both just talk trash all day, instead of doing much. On a side note, I think the substitute by Kainan was genius. Sakuragi fooled everyone with athleticism and rebounds, but yeah, no way he can actually shoot and score after only 3 months. Just let him shoot, cuz he'll miss. Genius. Also shows importance of a coach, tying back to tragedy of Fujima. As Ryonan coach mentioned, if only Shoyo had a proper coach, if only Fujima could concentrate on playing from the start, who knows what could've happened. Such a tragic guy, Fujima.

Mannnnn, with that translation, that makes SO much more sense! If Fujima had been able to focus as a player instead of player AND coach, that could have made all the difference! That's such a good point, and Kainen is already proving to have a very competent coach -- I like that it's almost him versus Anzai-sensei in a lot of respects. Thank you for the comment! That's also so fitting for Rukawa -- for all his talent, he really is humble and just wants to play the game and win. No accolades, it seems, none of the fanfare. And I totally respect him for it! :D

Did you just put Rukawa and "humble" in same sentence?😂😂 That's a new one, but sure, we haven't seen that much of Rukawa yet. Much of the man who has 3 things in life. Eating, sleeping and basketball. With basketball taking up 80%😂 I also like how we gradually see Sakuragi turning into a basketball player. It's not just "I'll beat "insert name" personally!", he's asking Gori for advice cuz he's worried about the team potentially losing. Losing cuz Sakuragi ain't performing good enough. The "genius" delinquent ain't saying "must impress Haruko", he's worried about the team winning. That said, he's still a delusional, fearless, red headed monkey. But compared to where he started? He's growing.

Oh YEAH! Sakuragi has made so many leaps and bounds since he started -- that's a really good point about him concerned for the "team" "winning" and not just how he looks to Haruko!! Our red-headed delinquent is maturing as a player! T_T And yesss...I guess with "humble" I mean that Rukawa doesn't act all cocky and egotistical when people call him a standout or prodigy -- his character could easily be super arrogant and loud like Kiyota and Sakuragi, but I appreciate that his character SEEMS to take everything in stride in relation to his his love of basketball...now, down the road if we see more character growth or reveals about Rukawa, I may eat my words. XD
