Atsushi may be pretending to be on a date with Kyouka, but I'm getting way more "brotherly" vibes from our cinnamon roll Tiger in this episode!

But the "date" isn't the only focus this episode -- secrets revealed about Dazai's past relationships with not only Akutagawa, but also a certain scrawny-legged redhead who is all too eager to fight our suicidal protagonist!

And still, Kunikida's words linger... "There's only room for one in your boat."

Well, there's a lot of people in this boat this episode!

I hope you enjoy the reaction and thank you for the support!

The moment I’ve been waiting for! There are no words to describe how much I LOVE Chuuya. Dazai and him are the best characters and have the best interaction in the show imo. I just love them! As for Chuuya’s ability, I don’t know if you should research it....it might spoil you for plot points far ahead. His ability is one that they develop and explain in each season, not like the other characters that have been introduced whose abilities are explained in one episode. Even in the manga we are still explaining and developing it, so maybe you can search the poet and poem his ability is based from but not the ability itself, idk. Maybe you could ask others what they think 🤔

I love that both Kunikida and Atsushi are not wrong. They both have a point and you can understand why they think like that. This little "date" was adorable. But it made it so much sadder. Everytime I see Chuuya again,my love for him awakens again. I completely forgot how much I like him. XD We got a little glimpse of Dazai's past. Have a wonderful day.

Knowing the culmination of violence that is next episode, this one looks a bit transitional. Or a strongest build-up. Dazai's relationsip with Chuuya and Port Mafia in general is pretty complicated story, we get it in bits and pieces in all the seasons plus movies plus books, so it's a steady and interesting content source. Ice and fire, logic and emotion! There is too much fanons in it for me I'm afraid, I'll mostly let you make your own assumptions about Chuuya. To say some things, he's really one-piece soul, simpler than most, but unsophisticated doesn't mean stupid. He's a workaholic and cares most about his subordinates, that's lore from short audiodramas so not a spoiler I think. And he's totally badass of course. Breaking Dazai out of his chains and beating his ass doesn't require Chuuya activating his ability, you'll see things about it in season 2. The name refers to a beautiful poem of real Nakahara Chuuya, and his life story - oh yes, totally research that! And of course I love Rampo just springing from his seat at one promise from the president! Those two are so mysterious in their interactions, honestly.

FINALLY!!!! Chuuya, my beloved, I was waiting for you. I'm glad you've finally met number 1 on my list of favorites for this show. He's just so great. Dazai's plans have plans, it'll all be revealed eventually, and how his ability functions still confuses me sometimes. It works through clothing occasionally, but sometimes it doesn't. He can't turn it on and off, it's just always active (unless there's something new about his ability in the new light novel.) And Chuuya hasn't used his ability yet - breaking the chains was just his strength. You'll see his ability later though.

Lets just take a moment to appreciate Romania doing research so we don't have to. Like it helps me understand the show so much better.

Y'all have hyped me up for Chuuya and I am soooooo excited to see them together in this series! I can say (having watched Episode 10 today), that I didn't reallllly find much yet about Chuuya, so because I feel it was a sign of spoilers, I'm holding off for now on researching him any further. Hmm, that is interesting! Thank you for the information on that!! :D :D

Right?! They both have points and you can relate to their viewpoints -- I like that aspect about the show, that they present all these viewpoints, without outright saying one is more "justified" than the other... And YES! The "date" was so cute, until you realize at the end that she knew it was like her "last day" all along. UGH. That was heartbreaking! Atsushi and Kyouka Protection Squad: ACTIVATE! And I am SO hyped for Chuuya and for his presence to hopefully trigger flashbacks into Dazai's past! ^^ Thank you for the kind words and I hope you've had a wonderful day, too!

Ooooh, you definitely hype up for Episode 10! Hahaha! I am really excited now that Chuuya is present in the story, if it will lead to more information coming to light about Dazai and his past with the Port Mafia! ^^ Oooooohhhh, so that WASN'T his ability! Oooh, that's awesome! Definitely has me curious about him! And YES, Rampo wanting praise! Hahaha, I love it -- it makes me want to see more flashbacks with the president and Rampo! ^^

I'm so glad that Chuuya has entered the chat, hahahaha! His chemistry with Dazai is already wonderful, so I'm pretty excited to see what's revealed with him -- and Chuuya HAS NOT used his ability yet?! THAT is intriguing! Wooooooow, now I'm curious! ^^ Thanks for the info!

Aw, thank you for the kind words! It's actually been fun to do some looking into these abilities, to see how it relates to the show; I really like how the show has weaved the literature into their abilities as well as their character! ^^
