WHAT A WAY to start a season, right?! I absolutely LOVE the atmosphere of this season already -- the noir! The mystery! The chemistry between Dazai and Oda?! OMG -- I am so psyched to see what happens as we take a stroll through "The Dark Age!"

Thank you for watching the full length reaction and for the support!

Plenty of people ship Dazai and Oda. I myself always get an older/younger sibling vibe from them. My favorite part of this episode was when Dazai tricked Oda into shooting the Mimic member bc it shows how manipulative he is and how he became an executive while so young. With that action he got Oda to do something he didn’t want to do while also confirming that he’s loyal to the PM AND revealing that he has a weakness, he would abandon his ideals to protect Dazai. ps. Good thing catching that Elise hasn’t aged at all😏

The first part of season 2 really knocked my socks off! I've been watching Bungo Stray Dogs along with you but couldn't wait and binge watched a few episode ahead and when I got to season 2 I was like "omg Romania is going to LOVE this". The tone shift, and new characters, seeing a different side of Dazai that we only see glimpses of present time, it's all amazing!

I can see it going platonic or more than that -- the CHEMISTRY is just off thecharts for them! And yessss, seeing the darker aspects of Dazai's personality is definitely unsettling. He's SUCH a manipulator! @_@ Oda clearly cares about Dazai, which has me worried for him....and yes, Elise creeps me out to NO END. Very SUSPICIOUS! >.<

Ahhhh, you are CORRECT -- I am LOVING the start of this second season! The "darker" tone shift and Oda's introduction have been soooo intriguing, along with seeing Dazai's past....ahhh....it's definitely amazing so far, and I'm really excited to see where it goes!

Dark Era episodes are the most beautiful, fragile and sad thing for me in this fandom. In fact, I joined just a month before 2nd season started and noone was aware this is gonna happen instead of The Guild arc. "Dazai Osamu and the Dark Era" was the only one of the light novels translated in English at the time, and none were translated to my language so I did that, when only a handful of people even heard of it. I fell in love with Odasaku's story instantly and felt a need to promote it, even if not many would be wanting to read... and then 2nd season happened. And it was so hyped my translation went viral as well XD What a wonderful time. Ahhh, I kinda ship Dazai with all three, Oda, Chuuya and Kunikida! He's so different with each one, so multi-faceted. Also, mind the cat! Odasaku is really a unique character in this universe, there is much argument about his choices. His ability activates only where he is in grave danger, and "didn't kill anyone with this gun" doesn't mean he didn't kill in the past. I believe we will get Rampo and Fukuzawa's past story on screens one day, it's there that young Oda appears for a short scene but nowhere else for now. In manga he's only vaguely referenced twice or thrice, no face, no story. I didn't read Oda's "Flawless" yet but he has quite a variety of short stories, all pretty popular. Sakaguchi's "Discource on decadence" is a nihilistic essay written in the times of war, hot-hearted and maximalistic, as they all were in their youth before plunging into depressing atmosphere of self-deprecation along with Japan of post-war era. Oh yeah, there is much in 1st episode that is a reference to the IRL trio of writers. They were called Buraiha and were a rowdy lot XD That photo, Dazai's photo from underneath angle, Dazai's accent that got translated into "fuzzed our jobs", the Lupin bar, some other places from next episodes... it's so fun to research real places based on this show!

Vimeo didn't really worked yesterday so I'm a little later. He's here, Ango is my favourite character. He's voiced by Fukuyama Jun, who also voices Yut-lung from banana fish. Oda is a wonderful character. I think it's interesting that we get all this from his perspective. I would think that if we get flashbacks to Dazai, we will obviously see it from his perspective. The dark era trio is my favourite in this show. I really like the atmosphere of this flashback. Like I already said a few episodes back I'm not a Dazai fan but I love the dark age arc . I think it's really Interesting to see how he was before he came to the agency. How he is still the same as now and how not. Dazai and Oda have really good chemistry. I personally like to see them more as siblings since I'm a Oda X Ango shipper. XD I'm so excited and I'm sure there will be a lot of long discussions this season. XD Wish you a wonderful day!!

Oh no! I hate when Vimeo doesn't work -- and Ango is your favorite! Ooooh! That is SO cool that Yut-Lung's VA voices him! I'm going to have to pay attention now to his voice! And yes, getting everything from Oda's perspective is nice, especially since Dazai is sooo chaotic and dark so far in this flashback. I LOVE the atmosphere of this flashback so far and the Dark Era Trio is soooo interesting! It's neat to see Dazai's character in the past and seeing how he is similar and different to the present version of himself. And Oda has wonderful chemistry with him -- whether it's platonic or not! :) I can see the Oda x Ango ship as well! Ahhhhh...yeah, long discussions abound, and I'm ready for it! Thanks for the kind words and have a great day, too!

dark age arc dark age arc dark age arc If there was ever a time for an episode to be called "born back ceaselessly into the past" you'd think it would be this one considering the flashback, not season one's finale episode but here we are. A fitting title on its own though nonetheless. So hi welcome to where things get real interesting. As if they haven't been already. Uh not a lot to say about this one yet as we're still unraveling mysteries and I'm in the favor of complete blindness when going through this show so I'll shut up for a bit and let everything reveal itself. Enjoy the shadowy glimpse of the past and see how it affects the present.

Since my comment got deleted silently I would dearly love to know what was wrong with it to fare better in the future :\ Anyway, enjoy the wild ride and remember the cat!

Hey! You didn't do anything wrong! I didn't delete the comment, so I'm not sure why it didn't originally show up. I've had others on here leave comments and for some reason Patreon just doesn't publish them. :( No worries, I'm glad this one showed up; thanks! ^^

Yessss, I wondered about the title of the season finale and now knowing it's a nice preview was so neat! Yesss, things have been VERY interesting so far and I'm so excited to see how these mysteries end up going!! @_@ Thanks for not spoiling, but I have a feeling I'm going to LOVE this arc!
