Can one girl fangirl as much as I have in this episode? I'm not sure. And we aren't even to the All-Japan yet!? Oh, Lord. I'm going to be a mess.

So many threads of the story are converging and in this episode, Mako and Rin take charge to get Haru out of his funk, and the Slam Dunk reference with Ryuuji is not lost on me! This season has been SO WONDERFUL, and we still have two episodes left! I'm feeling the bittersweetness, already...

I feel like Sousuke would wear that shirt at home. XD Here is a fanart of him wearing it from one of my favourite free artist. https://twitter.com/LeFlayART/status/1362453096203509761?s=19 I really missed SouRin. It was so precious, we really needed that. We can't go a season without Rin crying. And Sousuke was so soft. I'm just enjoying every second Nao is on screen because we never know when he will appear again. I really like that we got told what made him decide to become a trainer. We could guess why, but it's nice to have that confirmed. Our boys made it!! It's sad that we don't get to see much of them this season but there was a lot going on in College so it makes sense. We have too many -chan's here. XD Makoto's and Rin's conversations are always so calm. Don't remind me of the pain they share. Rin won't let the same shit happen again. XD Ryuji is just done with Haru. The similiarities again. I say it so often but I love how they give characters some similiarities even when they're completely different. The conversations between the characters feel so much more mature this season. You can feel how much they've changed while still being themselves. This reminds me of Makoto in the starting days movie, he wanted to be more mature so he started to change to someone that just isn't him. I like that little Makoto "focus" we got this episode. Watching him finding what he really wants to do was awesome. Makoto saw so many wonderful friendships and rivalries. Wish you a wonderful day!!

The scene with Makoto being the Haru whisperer always kills me. Of course Makoto can make Haru understand in seconds what Azuma has already explained hundreds of times 😂😂 #MakoHaru FOREVER ❤️ And I love that they gave us more Mako and Rin bc we don’t get enough! This episode is just so wholesome and I love it so much! And I always get so happy that Mako finally figures out what he wants his role to be in the future. He will be an AMAZING trainer. He has already helped Haru and others so much, even Hiyori who he didn’t know! So he definitively has the chops to become a great trainer/coach. Seeing Haru struggling with the water is always interesting since he seems the most in tune with it. And I think this is the first time he has struggle due to a competitor defeating him. He has never cared about competing but maybe now that will change since this new guy has managed to take away the feeling he always gets while in the water. ps. I think the “grandpa” part is a wrong translation (ji-chan is uncle and jii-chan is grandad)…from that and the nickname you should figure out who it is.

The MakoHaru in this season is STRONG -- and I LIVE for Mako/Rin interactions!! I was over the moon with Mako this episode and the trio of him, Rin, and Haru this episode! And YESSSS, I was going to be happy with Mako as the swim coach for kids, but you know what -- personal Olympic swimmer trainer Mako just has SUCH a ring to it! I love that his goals have evolved and he's realized what he wants to do -- our killer whale will be a perfect coach and personal trainer! <3 And I hadn't thought about that, but you're right -- Haru struggling against the water is something new...interesting! And now it's made him more competitive! And it's Albert, the adorkable Swedish Fish of all people. :P Hmmmmm, that's interesting about the translation! I may go watch the English dub to see how they translated it. Hmmmmmm.... Thank you so much for the comment!!

The crying diva shark and soft Sousuke -- I CANNOT. Also, that fanart is AMAZING! It's exactly as I pictured it! :3 <3 I love it so much! SO MANY CHANS -- I am kind of sad Nagisa and Rei didn't get as much to do this season, but you're right -- college shenanigans took precedent! At least we'll get a reunion soon! :) YES, I LIVE for Mako/Rin interactions - -their past trauma, their friendship, the way they are totally calm around one another? Yup. Love it! And yessss, Ryuuji may be more like Haru than we originally thought, but also, I couldn't help but crack up the whole time with him and Haru...SO funny! And honestly, Makoto has become one of my favorites in this whole series; like you said, we get to focus and see his dreams evolve this season and culminate into this episode. I LOVE this season because, like you said, the characters have matured and so have their interactions...and it's so subtle that it feels so natural. It's one of the things I've truly cherished about this series! :) And now only two episodes, and three movies to go... **tears up** Thanks for the kind words! I hope you have an awesome day, too!
