This has been my favorite episode of the series so far -- romance that's controversial, the definition of "love," Violet showing more personality and slowly blooming, and of course...THAT AFTER CREDIT SCENE.

I couldn't be more excited for next week after watching this episode!

FYI, the VA for Prince Daimen is the ONE THE ONLY, Kenjiro Tsuda (aka Nanami)

*screams* I KNEW I knew his voice from somewhere and my mind was going blank! YESSSS!! <3 Thank you! That drove me nuts during the reaction, haha!

WuXian Suibian

I recognized it too, so I had to look it up. It's not the classic Tsuda pur, but you can still hear similarities.

Well, now I'm going to have to go back and re-watch! Hahaha, also "Tsuda pur" is SUCH a thing! <3

General fun fact about the series if interested: the language used in the anime's writing has been decoded by a group of fans. As it turns out, the show's creators took Tamil as a base, performed a substitution cipher on its romanized alphabet, and then mapped that onto the fictional "Telsis" script used in the show. Someone made a downloadable translator which can be used in conjunction with a reference table to translate any text in Violet Evergarden. There are several pieces of writing which are never spoken, so I'm having fun translating them for myself, example being the letter from the end of the OP.

REALLY?! Holy cow, that is awesome!! It looked "familiar" but distinct enough that you can't make it out easily -- that is so cool, though! These people, putting in the hard work! Oooooh, if you get that ending letter in the OP translated by the time I reach the end of the series, I'd love to see that! That's so neat! Thanks for that info and the comment!

Will do. Edit: just made a new discovery. I was messing around with the opera at the start of the OVA, and it would seem that it may just be the Telsis script being spoken. Some of the lyrics, when romanized, actually translate into English. It's hard to tell where exactly the word breaks are and what the correct romanization is, but the entire song may be translatable.

Oooh!! That is awesome!! The level of detail on this show and what everyone put into it to make these tiny details is insane to me!

Alrighty, I've translated the letter from the OP (or what's shown at least). However, I won't tell you what it says just yet, because a large portion of it will be spoken in a later episode.
