Apologies, but Romania.exe has stopped working.

THIS EPISODE. This is one of my favorites in the entire series so far, and it not only answers questions, but adds about a dozen more! I can't wait to theorize further with you all as I try to piece together this insane world...that, as Hange and Mikasa say, is only getting more and more complicated!

There is only pre-Warrior and post-Warrior Romania, now. What a RIDE!
Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

PS

Great Reaction, even in season 1 episode 7 (7min 25sec) Annie, Reiner, Bertholt are together and they have an odd conversation. Annie: What Now Reiner? Reiner: Not Yet we have to let them gather first while all the other cadets are panicking

OHMYGOD -- I TOTALLY missed that tiny moment! Isayama, you MAD MAN! In the version I watched, the conversation went: Annie: Reiner, what should we do? Reiner: Nothing yet. If we do it, we do it all together. DAMN. WOW. Okay....hmmm....so that makes Reiner seem like the leader of the three, which is funny because he's the middle height character between Bertholdt and Annie. Mannnnn....I've watched a smidgeon ahead, but I'm going to bring this up in a future reaction (along with some other notes I've made) -- THANK YOU!

Pada Lee

Great reaction and discussion! Welcome to post-Warrior, to your right we have questions about the why’s and who’s and to your left are broken hearts and pain of betrayals. When you finish the series (including the final P2 when it’s all over, because algorithms), you can finally experience to joy watching other people’s reactions of this episode to see the varying levels of shock and become one of us. 😂 Like PS said, if you go through S1, with the knowledge of RBA being Titans, you see everything differently. Rewatching the series is so painful and so much fun. 🥲 S2 is probably my favorite season because it’s full of so many awesome moments and scenes like this entire episode.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I feel as I get deeper into this series, I become more and more a part of the fandom -- I love crossing these little mile markers, hahaha! Keep pouring me the AOT Kool-Aid! :) YES! Before the Recap Video for Season 2, I DEFINITELY am planning on going back and re-watching season one, especially knowing what I do now about RBA (love that acronym)! I am loving this season so far because of all the reveals and the mystery and intrigue! The show just gets better and better, and I'm strapping in for the ride!

makemedinosore

I have been waiting for this reaction since episode 1 - Reiner is my favourite character by a mile, you’ll probably find out why in the next few episodes. Glad we now have post-Warrior Romania to listen too now! 😄

Darth Danker

Hah! I've been waiting for this one!

ian

One of the craziest details to me personally was that Reiner and Bertholdt weren’t much older than Eren when they broke through the walls. Reiner specifically said that they were kids and didn’t know anything. Edit: I literally wrote this right before you talked about it 😂😂

romaniablack
>>68715353

This may be one of my favorite episodes and reactions so far! This show has gotten so crazy good! The hype is real!

romaniablack
>>68713951

I didn't get the Reiner hype until this season....and it's not over yet! The recap is going to be a fun one for sure!! And YESSSS, Post-Warrior Theorizing is a whole new type of Theorizing!

romaniablack
>>68718150

Isn't it INSANE?! Reiner and Bertoldt had to have been 11 or 12 around that time, right?! I'm so intrigued to get to their history, because how terrifying would it be to transform into a 50-meter tall Titan at THAT age! @__@ So ready to learn more about our Teen Titans!

SpaceMonkey

Did somebody say "midseason finale" ? I think i've heard "midseason finale" ! Remember when AoT was simple ? Welcome to AoT ! :-)

romaniablack
>>68723176

And WHAT a midseason finale! @_@ HA, yeah, remember when it was just titans vs. humanity, without any complexity and so forth? Thank you! I feel I've crossed one of many thresholds to come to get more into the fandom. :)

ian

It may seem that Bertholdt doesn't have any emotion, but when Reiner tells him that it's time, he is seen crying before he transforms. Even if they are traitors, they spent the last 3 years creating bonds with our squad, knowing that one day they would have to betray them. Really makes you wonder what's so important that they would even betray their comrades.

romaniablack
>>68733741

Ooooohhhh, I had taken it that he was crying because Mikasa nearly decapitated him, but there's that, too...and he was really emotional when he asked Reiner if they "were really doing this," (probably my favorite line from him so far) -- so yeah, I am SO CURIOUS what's their side of the story. All in due time, of course.

This reveal is one of my favourites — the nonchalance of Reiner makes my skin crawl in the best way. Your reaction was absolutely everything and 100% worth the wait. I so cannot wait for the rest of the series 😱💕

Paco_Stil

Oh Warrior…. The iconic episode. Finally reacted to it haha, I think when I watched it for the first time I was in shock as I had missed a few important moments from S1 which pointed towards Reiner being a Titan and our Bertordo being dodgy. 😀 I don’t recall if you mention it but go back to the scene between Reiner and Ymir in Ep 4… curious to hear your thoughts about it. Hands down, Isayama is great with foreshadowing and this is super consistent until the end of the story (while some may disagree) . This reveal was more shocking due to the fact that Reiner was super nonchalant about it and that was Isayama’s aim. But there is so much more to Reiner… which you will soon find out. Oh what a ride is AOT from now on

Nathan Grenawalt

I just love the cinematography of the reveal. The way the camera pans past and we focus in on the other conversations as though what Reiner said was inconsequential is so great.

romaniablack
>>68737665

RIGHT?! That's what got me -- he just strolled up to Eren and started spilling it all -- INSANITY! Thank you so much for the kind words! This episode was SO MUCH FUN and now I cannot express how hyped I am for the rest of the season!

romaniablack
>>68744636

YES YES YES -- the panning away like it was no big deal! As we the audience are absolutely SHOOK! It's just insane, wonderful, and such a memorable reveal! I had no clue how we were going to find out about the Colossal and Armored Titan identities, and I can't imagine a better reveal than this!

romaniablack
>>68740236

I feel I've crossed a milestone in the series, haha! Everyone's pointing out these amazing hints that Isayama dropped from the start with those two, leading to that reveal, and it's GENIUS. I think I brought up what you're talking about with Ymir and Reiner in the discussion for this episode! But yesssss, I'm soooo ready to see where this story goes and the other reveals that are to come. And of course, to know more about Reiner! His character has been fascinating this season and we're only halfway through! Thank you for the kind words! :D SO READY FOR THE RIDE!

daragh faro

But the shoulder grab... Yes I loved this so much and I am sorry for enjoying your suffering throughout this but I have been hyping this up for myself for so long, you have reached a defining point in this series! What do you think about Reiner now? Because you can not forget the shoulder grab.. also its kind of ironic, when Reiner saw Connie's pain back in the start of episode 3, he basically convinced Connie to keep his mind busy by playing soldier. Just wanted to point out this small parallel.

romaniablack
>>68750968

YES! The parallels with Reiner and Connie are CRAZY -- I love that line of Reiner "playing soldier" to keep his mind distracted...of course, leave it to Bertholdt to remind him he's a "warrior." @.@ And yessss, my opinions of Reiner are definitely evolving! I feel I've hit a milestone with the series, and I'm so happy y'all are on board watching my descent into madness! ^^ Thanks!

momo

Ahhhh, I was so happy watching your reaction! Back when I was in 6th grade (SO LONG AGO) and the first season was getting really popular, the manga had already reached this point and spoilers were flying everywhere. There were some kids in my middle school telling everyone about the true identities of the colossal/armored titan. I wasn't able to experience the big surprise as you did but I sure was able to live through your reaction! Can't wait for your reactions to the future episodes!!

romaniablack
>>68794103

Thank you SO much for the kind words! Oooohhhh, I would have been SO MAD about them spoiling that! I would have thrown all my crappy Pokemon cards at them (not the good ones, though; they wouldn't have been worth those, haha), but I'm happy that y'all got to relive that reveal in this episode. I am SO excited for the rest of the season and series; I can't wait to talk about it with you all! :)

Julie

Just tucking Reiner’s lines about starting the attack on humanity into the background noise 😆. Most epic reveal ever! When you made the prediction, I was like “oh no, the surprise is gone.” But then I remembered that the way it’s done is amazing enough a surprise in itself. Loved you’re reaction. It’s getting good now.

romaniablack
>>68812888

RIGHT?! Like it was nothing! Hahaha! I LOVED this reveal! Oh no, I have been FULLY prepared since episode three to be totally WRONG and for all of you to say, "Silly Romania! Thinking they were the Colossal and Armored Titans, ha ha ha!" And then to be proven right and in such a crazy way?! I loved it! Thank you so much for the kind words!! Yessss, we're getting in deep, now!

Toni simi

Phew I still made it before the next reaction came out. XD Every damn time you said Reiner and/or Berthold can become Titans I just got more and more excited for this episode. XD The tension this episode also Hosoyan's voice acting was amazing. I think it's hard for us to say if Ymir is really simple, like Historia said, since we haven't seen much of her since the start. I've never seen such a "casual" way of revealing something so big. I still can't believe that this is how it all came out. Other shows: the sun rises, everything gets better now Attack on titan: the sun rises, shit's going to get down Wish you a wonderful day!!

romaniablack
>>68923958

Hahaha, I cannot IMAGINE how you all felt as I went through my episodic spill about them being titans...I'm so glad I was right! And UGH, you reminded me that Sousuke Yamazaki and Reiner share a VA....MUH HEART! <3 <3 <3 The tension was SO GOOD this episode and I feel it's setting up so many good things, but the just nonchalant reveal...I was FLOORED. I've never seen such huge bits of information so casually tossed to us. I love it so much! And yes, the sun is cursed. >.< Thank you for the kind words and I hope you have a good day, too!
