**HEADPHONE WARNING, Y'ALL!**

Isayama just patted us all on the back at the end of this episode and said, "Welp, WeLcOmE tO sEaSoN tHrEe!"

I had NO clue what to expect with this season premiere, but a western-style murder mystery thriller with intrigue, politics, and we're ALREADY getting Levi backstory, apparently?! This was not where I thought this show was headed, but OKAY, I'M GAME!

Kenny is threatening, King Fritz is ominous, and just when you think this show is complicated enough...another layer of complexity is added! Should I have expected any less, though?

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

And hello Season 3! It makes quite the entrance, doesn't it?

Oh my GOSH -- what a character reveal, right?! We're in season THREE and getting new major players?! Getting major Banana Fish Blanca vibes from Kenny...not going to lie...

HOLY SMOKES -- this series premiere was NOT messing around! I had NO idea what I was in for with this episode, but if the rest of this season is this crazy...hoo boy...

The truck

R.I.P Pastor nick T~T I really liked him and his devotion towards his beliefs was very inspiring and (he was kinda handsome) But Kenny is a very interesting man though. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Pada Lee

R.I.P. Nifa and the other one from Hange’s squad. Sorry, they got the Petra treatment of cute girl and Dead 1. 😅 S3 kicks off with a bang! 😂 And my favorite OP/ED combo! “What’s the truth?” Yes, what is the truth indeed. There’s something so beautiful and sad about the flashbacks to their childhood during a simpler time. Perfectly nostalgic. EDIT: Has anyone mentioned watching “Attack on Titan is Incredible” by Gigguk? After end of S3P2?

Welcome to Season Three part one, you're gonna need that whiteboard. Honestly, this first half in my favourite. I love this whole season, but the first half just goes crazy. Now, not sure if anyone's mentioned this before, but there's a mid credit scene as part of the ED in episode 12 of this season. There was about a six month break between episodes 12 and 13, so that scene really added to the suspence and the experience.

Here's a fun fact shared by Isayama, have you noticed the uncommon way that Levi always holds his tea cup by the rim? Back when Levi was still living in the underground city and he was dirt poor. However, Levi managed to save up enough money to buy a fancy teaset. The first time he used the tea cup to drink, the handle snapped leading the cup to smashed on the ground and spilled all the tea. This event seems to have traumatized Levi who somehow loses “faith” in teacup handles.

Honestly romania, I really think that you should do a mid season 3 and an end of season 3 recap. This season is definitely 2 separate arcs that each have season 2 levels of info within them, and unless you want your complete season three recap to be six hours+ long [if you can even remember enough to fully talk about the beginning of season 3 after that second arc] splitting them up would probably be best? I absolutely adore this first arc with all of my heart, and so will you, and it alone would probably be at least an hours recap, rip, and review. And Jesus christ, you'll be lucky to only have a three hour recap at the end of season three for that last arc. Anyway, love your videos and am so hyped for this season!!!

I have to say, the fact that Pastor Nick stuck to his guns and held his own and kept his resolve 'til the bitter end? I have to respect him for that. But YEAH! Kenny is SUUUUUUCH an intriguing character!

Seriously, Isayama, quit killing cute and interestingly designed female characters! @.@ But yeah, I feel for them! The OP is so different than the first two seasons', but I realllly like it -- it's sooo nostalgic and calling back to season one, just like this first episode! Very true! Oooh, and NO, no one had mentioned that, so yessss, I will definitely put that on my list to do for the S3P2 recap! Thank you for that suggestion! :)

OH, the whiteboard is GOING to be used -- the recap was just a taster, I feel. I was FLOORED by this first episode, so I am insanely hyped for what's to come. Yessss, people on Twitter have been talking about the mid-season post credit -- I'm going to do a poll for that and the OVA's on here...so...I'll have more on that in a few weeks. Thank you for the heads up, though!

romaniablack
>>70354677

Oh wow! The faith Levi has lost is in teacup handles? Seems legit. I love that tiny little detail be a recurring thing with Levi throughout this series. That's so cool; thanks for that!

romaniablack
>>70355945

Okay, so seriously....you may have a point. In this first episode, I was like..."Oh no....there's already so much happening in ONE EPISODE." And I was thinking that this recap for season 3 WOULD be six hours long...yeahhhh.....the more I think about it, the more a mid-season recap doesn't sound bad, especially since the anime ACTUALLY took time off between parts of the season. Thanks for that suggestion and for the kind words and comment! ^^ I'm so glad y'all are enjoying my ramblings!

Lol, you can ship whoever you like, personally I ship characters with multiple characters so that no matter what happens I always come out on top. xD Anyways though, I laughed out loud when you already said that Levi was back in S tier. That didn’t take long! Really love the Opening for this season though, gives me a lot of nostalgic, coming of age (and innocence lost) vibes.

>>70353248

That’s true, but I also wonder if it’d be better for her to just ignore the mid-season credits, since it was more to tease fans who had to wait months with spoilers from the next Arc. Personally I kind of hope Romania ignore the mid-credits on episode 12 because it gets shown later on anyway, and could spoil the experience of going in blind to the rest of the season/series if analyzed.

romaniablack
>>70360527

Thank you!! I'm usually a multishipper, so I feel I'll be doing this throughout the rest of the series! And YES, Levi, your vacation from the S-tier was short -- I hope he enjoyed it. And YES! "Coming of Age" -- the animation is making our cadets look older (especially Armin and Eren!) ever-so-slightly and it's all like the "world of the innocent childhood" is coming to an end... @_@ I really like the opening a lot!

romaniablack
>>70353248

That's a really good point -- I'll talk with you all about it as I get closer to watching it, but that's a very good point, since I'm going to be going straight from Episode 12 to Episode 13 with just a few days break.

Julie

Yeah Levi is back!! The vibe keeps changing. I love this one though. Connie does say“monkey” in this episode. I went back and listened to the conversation in Opening when Eren mentions the monkey. “What is a monkey?” would be the obvious translation of that sentence without context. But in context, I think the subtitles translate it correctly. “What’s this about a monkey?” He uses the exact same grammar as the sentence before it about wondering what’s they mean by the world not having a future. Hope that clears something up.

Julie
>>70355945

I’d agree with that suggestion. Season 3 part 1 covers way more than season 2 did. You’ll have a lot to talk about.

romaniablack
>>70377130

Yessss, the atmosphere is TOTALLY different, but I'm all about it! Thank you for clarifying about "monkey" -- maybe Eren told Connie about it being a "monkey," since he heard Ymir refer to it as that...we shall see, eh? I appreciate it! :D :D

Welcome to AoT, now the story begins.

It's insane to think that two seasons later the story is STILL picking up steam and now getting to the nitty gritty...insanity. Shouldn't have expected less, though, eh?

It feels like we reached a point where information is extremely vital to the scouts survivability. Of course we always needed information vs the titans but it feels different now that there is a system in place that wants us gone. It all links back to Erwin's line, "who do you think is the enemy". At this point our only ally is Pixis.

romaniablack
>>70417279

YES! The titans were a threat, but they weren't the "organized system" taht this is...and yessss, Erwin's lines are all echoing so much, now! Man, and to think I was going to count ol' Pyxis out in the recap video. :P

I love the different vibe this episode gives off. Seeing Eren around his friends makes me appreciate him more. If I remember correctly in the manga they already did a few transformations and experiments with Eren before it turned out like this. I really liked that conversation between Eren and Historia, something's I didn't know I needed. Also Eren just casually explained why I didn't liked Historia when she was still Christa. I kinda have a little thing for the Moblit/Hanji ship. I couldn't see it happening but it's cute. I felt so bad for Armin. You could see that Jean wanted to help him but couldn't. Nifa had such a nice design. This show really gives us cool looking female characters to just kill them of soon after. What a character reveal Kenny got. Just badass. Wish you a wonderful day!!

Yesss, this episode was nothing like what I'd expect, but I love it for it! Seeing Eren around his friends definitely shows the best side of him. :) Thank you for that clarification with the manga! I can't wait to see that in the actual manga when I get to it! And yessss, Historia is a much better character, now! That whole scene with Armin and Jean -- I felt for them both; especially Armin, though. And Nifa! RIP, girl. Seriously....but that Kenny reveal. @_@ This episode was insanity, but I loved it! Thank you so much for the kind words and have a great day, too!
