**HEADPHONE WARNING**
I fangirl a LOT in this set of episodes, mainly Episode 10.

I'm so glad I wasn't spoiled for how this series was going to weave in XingChen and Song into the "flashback" episodes, but I'm sooo digging this alteration in the storyline.

Getting to see Xue Yang, XingChen, and Song interact not only with each other but our main crew was a DELIGHT, but seriously -- Yao and HuaiSang's actors are pulling in overtime with their acting chops these episodes. The expressions? The tension? The FORESHADOWING? Oh, and there's WangXian goodness in there, too. ;)

This set has been my favorite so far, and I can't wait to fangirl with you all!

Thanks for watching and for the support!

1. Actually, Wang Haoxuan (Xue Yang) was one of the few actors that really auditioned for his role. Among the cast, quite a few of the actors auditioned for Xue Yang, for example, the actors of Jiang Cheng, Jin Ling, Nie Huaisang, and Lan Jingyi. Even Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo both said that if they were to play a different character, they would be Xue Yang. Fun Fact: Jin Guangyao’s actor (Zhu Zanjin) auditioned for Lan Sizhui. 2. It’s not translated in the subtitles, but I find it both funny and interesting that Wei Wuxian addresses Xue Yang as “kid”. Which brings up the question of how old is Xue Yang? Even Xiao Xingchen says that Xue Yang “had done many deeds at such a young age”. In the novel, it is believed that Xue Yang is one to three years younger than Xingchen, who was 19 when he left the mountain. Then is he a similar age to Wen Ning, or Huaisang? It just makes Xue Yang’s life sadder that he is like this at his age.

OH NO THEY ARE ALL HOT is the thing most of us uttered the most often while watching this XD I loved the phrase when WWX was searching XY: "If I am the second shameless one among all the cultivators, noone would dare to be the first!" Lan Zhan's wistful look towards SongXiao leaving, though. He probably wants that so much, that easy unity, that freedom of a rogue cultivator he never thought of before... My little NieLan heart started beating again when Mingjue so easily called Xichen by just his name! The story is slowly going back to the novel track from there, I love that serious turn. Dumb trio shenanigans time is almost over...

Damn I love episode 10! Buckle up Romania, things are seriously gonna take off from here lol. Regarding XingChen being WuXian's uncle, it's basically a common practice in China to use these familial references to refer to anyone you know, whether blood-related or not. So WuXian in this episode is actually still calling XingChen "cultivation clan uncle". So XingChen is not blood-related to WuXian. The subtitle is a bit off here but understandable. Basically the cultivation clan is regarded as a big family, so that's why even not bloodily related, WuXian still can call Yanli sister and FengMian his "cultivation clan uncle". I'm with you Romania. I'm too hyped to see Yao, Yang, and Huaisang together in this episode. The tension is off the chart, and the foreshadowing is crazy! The stage has now been set and I'm soooo ready for it.

I find it fascinating, but not surprising, that many actors wanted to be Yang's character -- he's SO fun in this series and you can tell Haoxuan is having a lot of fun with the role. And HA! That's great -- of COURSE WuXian refers to everyone as younger than him...even in the flashbacks! That's a curious question -- The Untamed makes XingChen older than in the novel (so I've been told), but I'm not sure about Yang....interesting....but yeah, Yang's character in general is just a tragic, complicated figure... T-T

Hahahaha, SERIOUSLY, though -- all of these actors are ridiculously good looking and great for their roles. WWX and XY's banter back and forth was GOLDEN; I absolutely loved it. And you're so right about Lan Zhan's "wistful" look at SongXiao -- seeing what they are and wanting that...*sigh* And I hadn't noticed that Mingjue called XiChen by his name, but oooohhhh! @.@ And yeah....I feel I should have savored the dumb trio shenanigans more... T-T

I deeeeefinitely feel a tonal shift happening, but I LOVED Episode 10 as well! And that makes sense about WWX calling XXC "uncle" despite not "technically" being one. Of course, the subtitles betray again! XD It's all relative, though, right? :) The acting with those three in this episode and the tension/foreshadowing were just WILD! I was so living for it with these episodes! And oooooh, *hype intensifies*

I kinda want Nie Huaisang to cheer me on now. XD I'm so hyped when you get to the Yi city arc after seeing your reaction to the actors. All the foreshadowing was amazing.

Ooohhhh, yes, I am SO HYPED for Yi City in this adaptation!! Especially after seeing these actors interacting with one another! @.@ And seriously, as long as I don't get on HuaiSang's bad side, I'd love him to cheer me on, too! ;)
