I am going to be caught up with Ace of the Diamond Act II's manga in a few weeks, and then the 9-chapter-per-volume wait shall commence!

But, the sunny side is I am FINALLY going to start a new Sports Anime series! But there's SO many to choose from, so I'm asking for your help!

Please vote for ANY and ALL series you'd like me to watch!

The top 5-8 will be on a PUBLIC poll for everyone to choose from next week!

Thanks for Voting!

Really sad about Joe lol. Definitely a masterpiece for me and has an unconventional shonen mc. Manga is from 60s-70s so it's very dark. Shounen magazine was so much different then. From Joe then to Daiya now is such a big difference. It's a great character study with probably the best character development for a mc. I'm glad the rest of my top 5 are getting votes tho ahahha. Ping pong, Ippo, and Chihayafuru all have amazing characters

Ao Ashi was such a pleasant surprise for me this season. Didn’t expect to like it as much as I did.

Matthew B

Ahh yes, grand blue, definitely a sports anime about diving.

OKA

Air Gear, what a blast from the past.

JennyLH

My thoughts exactly! But I think if Romania was going to do this series I would much rather she read the manga. I found the anime underwhelming after experiencing the amazing art (especially the background art) and aesthetic the manga provided.

daragh faro

hajime no ippo is a masterpiece.

killerqueen2000

crazy how it's still ongoing and high quality as ever

romaniablack

I thought it was a little more on the "retro" side! :) Thanks for voting!

romaniablack

Oooh, interesting! Thank you for letting me know about the manga version being much better than the anime! :) And thanks for voting!

Saku

I'm no athletic, but this is the only series that ever made me want to go work out. The hype is insane!

iHatePiano

Lately, there are not many sports-themed shoujo manga, especially those that are adapted into anime. But "Chihayafuru" is an interesting work because of its sports theme related to a waka poem anthology from nearly 1,000 years ago.

Kelsey

Can I vote for a daiya rewatch 😏

romaniablack

I've heard some people say that, so I'm excited for the chance to eventually see it! :)

romaniablack

I'm glad there's at least others you're excited about on the poll! Thank you for voting; I definitely want to see that series at some point! :)

romaniablack

Ahahahahahahaahaha - so I've heard! ;) Thanks for voting!

romaniablack

I've had a LOT of recommendations for that one, so I'm excited to eventually get to it! Thanks for voting!

romaniablack

I've heard the premise and it sounds FASCINATING! I've also heard it's just a really good anime! :) Thanks for voting!

romaniablack

Hahaha -- I wish! At least we'll have a "rewatch" of sorts when Season 4 of the anime comes out! ;)

John Miller

Ao Ashi one of my GOATS easy pick

romaniablack

NICE! That's exciting!! Thank you for voting!

killerqueen2000

theres truly no other series like chihayafuru. It's actually a josei demographic but also has some shoujo tropes so it can be both xd

killerqueen2000

Those 3 are pretty high in my favourites not just sports anime so I'm pretty excited. They have to get over the big wall that is Kuroko tho and that will be difficult lol. Ooh hopefully Baby Steps is on the poll next time too since i dont think ya have a tennis series on the poll xd. mb even the manga

romaniablack

I tried to find prince of tennis, but there isn't a good place to watch it that I could see, haha! But I've added Baby Steps to the list for next time! :)

killerqueen2000

The production quality isnt great for the anime but I don't think you'll mind that much haha. It is similar to daiya in terms of having basically everything needed in a sports series so thats how it became one of my faves. theyre in the same magazine after all ;)

romaniablack

Oh, that's really cool they're in the same magazine! Yeah, animation style doesn't bother me too much -- if a story and its characters are good, that's what matters most to me! :)
