You all will think my early predictions for this show are probably hilarious, but I was really thrown for a loop in this first episode alone, and now I'm on board with this little immortal-esque Elven mage, learning how to feel? Sign me up! Lots to think about for the episodes to come!

I'm so excited for you to watch this! (also Isekais are, you die in one world and get reincarnated in another, most of the time they get reincarnated into a fantasy world, so this isn't Isekai, it's pure Fantasy) I watched up to the current episode and I'm really enjoying it, one thing I realized, just rewatching this with you, is how much attention to detail there is in the show (for example seeing the shop owner young and then old the next time we see him or how we learn Fern is practically invisible and when Frieren first met Fern she was surprised, probably because she couldn't sense her), it has good rewatchability, it's like AOT in that sense. I also like how when Frieren and Himmel are often in a frame together and when he died (around the scene where people started talking about Frieren) she looked to her side but it was completely empty T-T and the way she didn't realize what she had lost till the very, very end, only once he was completely buried. As a Native German Speaker, I really didn't expect so many german words but it's really cool! Flamme - Flame Aureole - Halo (or illuminated area around the sun); this one is Latin Frieren - to freeze (ex. I'm freezing right now), probably about how her personality may seem standoffish, "cold", or also that she is practically frozen in time, since she doesn't age or how her character design has more "cooler" colors Himmel - Sky/Heaven Eisen - Iron Heiter - Cheerful/Bright/Serene (sometimes Heiter is also used in regards to a drunk person, if a person is mildly drunk, they are "angeheitert") Holy City of "Strahl" - Holy City of "Beam/Ray" Fern - Far away "Ewig" the Sage - "Eternally/Forever" the Sage When I listened and read the full lyrics for the OP and ED, damn was it written for the show, so good! Also some fun facts: Frieren's VA is Anya's VA, Himmel's VA is Okamoto Nobuhiko. Some I just personally notices or found out. I'm really looking forward to this, hope you'll enjoy the show and if you don't mind, I'll happily translate any german words appearing in each episode going forward! ^^

Don't know how many of these you have seen, but Friren's VA is also Vivy from ... Vivy, and also Chise from ancient magus bride. Also anya from spy x family (and a ton of other shows lol)

I really enjoyed your reaction and thoughts on the first epsiode. I rmemeber when I showed my brother epsiode 1 and he was like "This is going to be a good one, if they can get you attatched toa character that much that you get emotional in fifteen minutes, this is a keeper". So you are defintiely not alone in getting attatched to Himmel and mourning his passing although we just met him. A few non spoilery things, about this epsiode: The first four epsiodes were actually released like an anime movie early and then broken down into four epsiodes (maybe someone mentioned that already). A little fun thing, in this epsiode, they pass by a stone wall along the road on the way into the capital at the start of the anime and the same wall is shown fifty years later towards the end of the epsiode. The wall has a lot more moss in the second shot at the end of the epsiode after. Milet does the ending song, she is such an underrated vocalist.

I did not expect this video but so glad it's happening. When a first episode can hit like you know you're in for a wonderful story.

As a Germanless person, those translations are quite nice to see, the only one I really got was Flamme because of how obvious it was.

Well....sadly someone let me know that the first four episodes were released as one. I actually did not want to know that - like I say in all my videos, I don't want ANY information from the show or the manga included...meant that too, but alas. Now I know - it just eliminates really any stakes watching for Episodes 2-4. For future reference, please no production/plot/manga information unless I ask! Thanks for the comment and kind words, though! Excited to hopefully get more into this series!

I didn't expect this, I'm so excited !

Brrmaster

I am super excited for this, hope you are well Romania.

Frieren is definitely my favorite new anime out of 2023, I loved every episode so far! Always love your reactions, hope you really enjoy the series.

I love this show so much! Take your time, Romania. Watch this show at your own pace and, just like the title, I hope you enjoy this incredible fantasy journey.

OH my gosh RIGHT?! I did NOT expect the first episode to slap me across the face like that! I'm sooooo excited to see what's in store! Thank you for the kind words and comment!

Well i haven't been active here the last couple of months as there wasn't really any series that i felt was for me, oh boy was i wrong and do i regret i didn't get in on the Frieren train until last week. Now i just have to go back and watch your reactions (i do miss a reactor casually pulling out a whiteboard 😂), just a bit sad i'm 3 months behind and missed the initial discussions. You've said you aren't a big crier many times and i don't consider myself one either... but yeah this show got me too, many times. Right now i've watched up to episode 17 and i have probably shed a tear or two to over half of them, it sure aims right for the feels. I can confidently say no other show in my entire life has gotten me to tear up on so many different occasions, so props to this show for that... i guess. So with how far you've gotten in the show now, still not shipping Frieren with someone? eh? eh? And don't you feel bad about doubting Heiter? a little bit of "corruption" might just be a good thing. 😉

Yay! It's great to have you back on the channel in the comments! Frieren has been so much fun!! :D And of course, casually pulling out a giant dry erase board -- why not!? And no worries - never too late for the discussion! And yeah, this show is definitely getting me more in the feelings than I was expecting! I will say, there has been at least one show to get me more than Frieren (Violet Evergarden) but that's the only I can think of! And to that shipping...I say nothing as of yet. Thanks for the comment! You'll have to see my thoughts. :)
