The backstory of Becoming a King (Patreon)

Greetings, future royals! 🫶

Today, we shall lift the veil of mystery and tell you about the tragic events that started the story of Becoming a King.

Solmont Kingdom was nearly plunged into chaos when the king and queen died due to mysterious circumstances. A carriage plunged off a cliff and took the lives of the rulers, in turn leaving the kingdom without an heir and on the brink of civil war.

Struggle for power:

Without a true heir, three powerful houses vie for the throne:

• The Harrents, the heroes who have defended the kingdom from enemy invasion. Their fame and military might make them serious contenders ⚔️

• The Stolts, an ancient and wealthy clan with a history that goes back centuries. They have great influence and networks 🐻

• The Frassini, a merchant family that once saved the entire kingdom from ruin, for which the monarch bestowed the title of baron on the head of the family 💰

With their own ambitions and interests, the three houses are ready to start a civil war to gain control of the kingdom 🔥

The mystery of birth and monastery:
What about the protagonist, you may ask? Our protagonist is an ordinary novice in a monastery who suddenly learns that he is the bastard of the deceased king. He claims his rights for the throne and heads to the capital to face the council of the three families.

Judgmental Decision of the Council:

The Council gives him a choice: either you can prove to us that you are deserving of the royal throne, or you can go to the gallows right now. Fearful of death, the protagonist chooses the first option and receives exactly one year to become a good successor.

Love and Politics:

You'll find the other side of royal life, love, in addition to political intrigue and power struggles! Charm one of the seven beautiful ladies. Among them:

• Two girls from noble houses (Robertina from the Frassini family and Delia from the Stolts family);

• Two princesses representing neighboring states (Sora and Taisa);

• Street performer Estelle, rebel “queen” Zenara, and even... courteuse Margherita!

Which choice will decide your fate?

Soon you'll be able to make your own way to the throne. Stay tuned, and see you soon in the kingdom of Solmont.
