at 9:05 in your reaction, Riley says "Rodney King just called", referring to the 1991 beating of Rodney King (a black American man) by LAPD officers during his arrest after a car chase. It happened to occur in view of a local who recorded some of the beating on his camcorder and eventually sent the video to the local news station which in turn broadcast the footage and then it blew up from there. It was the video footage of the beating that made it noteworthy, since it offered incontrovertible proof of what had happened. The parallels between the Rodney King beating and George Floyd's killing in 2020 are pretty striking if you look into the facts of each incident and the ways in which each incident occurred, and how the public reacted to each case (and the subsequent civil rights trials against the respective police officers). Eerily similar, and I'd say that both were landmark events for most, if not all, Americans, but especially so for Black Americans. So Riley's just straight dunking on granddad lol
