Squishing Pests (Patreon)
Content
Bluesky/Pixiv (Part 1)/Pixiv (Part 2)The bug has changed Lissa and Lucina's fates into that of two pressed princess posters.===============================================================Special Events:- This comic had the honor of being featured on my first ever art stream.===============================================================The Creator's Mindset:- The only other time I've squished a character with the object they were holding was in Zelda's Sheikah Slate Troubles. Frederick's axe is covering Lissa's face, just like the Sheikah Slate with Zelda. I could've just had it laying on the ground to the side, but something about it covering her face made her situation seem more embarrassing.- Not gonna lie, I seriously love the way this turned out. When I finished the weapon rack, I was really excited. Then when I first saw the shot of Chrom walking into the room, I felt great.• But I suppose that's to be expected when this is probably the most I've devoted myself to making good scenery.- I actually had to rerender this quite a few times, some panels more than others.• I turned down the resolution on the wall's bump map that I gave it and it just looked pixelated when I finished, so I fixed it in all panels.• I also had to rerender panel three maybe three or four times because two of the tomes were assigned the wrong textures, which I only found out much later down the line, and one of them was really strange with its colors.• The final panel had to be redone because some of Lissa's meshes had very dark shadows on them, since the normals on them weren't automatically smoothed out.===============================================================Trivia and Extra Tidbits:1. Gallery:- This was the original idea I had in mind for Taking Inventory when I first started working on it. I changed my mind as I made progress, thinking I would make it a sequel instead, but it never happened until now of course. But on the bright side, this is several times of a higher quality than what I would've produced way back then.• Hey, you know the barrels that Lissa toppled over and she got flattened by? A large stack of them appeared in Taking Inventory's third panel. Wanna guess why they were put there in the first place?
2. In Universe:- The scenario here is a mix between two supports conversations; one that happens in Fire Emblem Awakening, and one that happens in Fire Emblem Warriors, both involving Lucina. Some of the dialogue in the comic is taken directly from the interactions.• Awakening: Lucina and her sibling in their C rank support get scared of a huge flying bug with hairy legs. Chrom comes in and scolds the two for all their racket after killing it and leaves.• Warriors: Lucina and Lissa are repairing equipment inside a tent when Lucina spots a large bug. As the two scramble to think up a way to kill it, it escapes through an opening only for the conversation to end with another one showing up.- The weapon rack in the first panel took a lot of time to do, but it looks glorious! All different weapons and equipment from Fire Emblem Warriors. Can you name them all?• From left to right, top to bottom: Silver Lance, Gravidus, Blessed Lance, Heal Staff, Bolt Axe, Hero Lance, Frederick's Axe, (This is what Sakura uses in her awakening special attack, but it's probably an unnamed festal), Camilla's Axe, Steel Sword, (Again from Sakura's awakening special attack, as an unnamed weapon that all the archers are holding), Iron Sword, Lady Sword, Missiletainn, Anna's Bow, and Olivia's Blade.- The left most shield on the display rack in the second panel is from Frederick.- The tomes in the third panel are all unique weapons held by characters in Warriors.• The top most one is Brynhildr, the top left is Aura, the top right is Thoron, the bottom left is Tharja's Hex, and the bottom right is Moonlight.
===============================================================Extra Notes:- There's the new Special Events tab which I'll be using from now on to indicate if I've streamed for an art piece (With a link to the stream archive) or if a submission was a part of a picture prompt. I could possibly add more unique events for the future, but we'll see.===============================================================Credits:- Characters: Lissa and Lucina (Fire Emblem Awakening).
