No lie, I already have more hippos than I know what to do with, but those bases are gosh darn lovely!

Really wish there was females, partly for more PC/NPC options and partly for Moon Knight just kinda making hippo women far more cool. But this is worth sticking around for.

Love your work! -But might have to break my subscription chain for this one, wish there was a bit more variety in the set other than just -all- hippos, as they will probably never be used in my games setting to validate the month's sub. (Just no DM/player interest in them at all.) But I'll be back for the next useful release!

Would've preferred a set with a mix of anthropomorphic characters rather than every shade of Hippo...

I'm glad to see the variety not only in classes, but within each class/role. I'd prefer this going forward as a type of set. Base the set off of one race and just give them options. Maybe not every time, but it is a nice change. I also prefer the focus on miniatures this time.

I’m a bit confused by this release. Cast’n’Play has always released Fantasy miniatures. I understand you have another sci-if focused group (Nebula) but they have a separate MMF presence. This seems like a Nebula release, not Cast’n’Play. Are we to expect a mix of SciFi and fantasy in the future? Please clarify if this is a new direction for this Patreon, because it’s a big change!

I'm down for hippos for a month 😁curious to see what throwbacks are going to work with them...maybe the void or the cosmic horror release? I never got cosmic and only have a few models as throwbacks

A slice from my day: I log into Patreon to see if any of the ones I support have updated yet to tell us what's coming next month. Oh, look! A new post from CnP. Let's see what's in it! Then, I see the title and teaser images from the video, "Huppus, Space Mercenaries." SPACE mercenaries? Ugh. I have NO need for hippos in space. But that Manta thing DOES look cool. Let's take a peek at the video. Oh! NOT "Space" miniatures. These are CnP's take on Giff. I always hated Giff. This is going to suck. Then every new model/unit that came across the screen managed to be somehow better than the one before it. "Oh. Wow!" "Oh, Cool!" Dude!" So, I'm REALLY getting into it when I see them... OPTIONS FOR DIFFERENT HANDS! Oh, my miniature-printing GAWD! I don't know WTF I'm going to do with them, but I need to print an entire army and find a way to incorporate them into 40k. Hmm... A proxy IG army? The Emperor's River Horses? Hippos of Khorne CSM proxies? I don't know, but it's gonna be EPIC!

I read the preview title and was really disappointed, as I didn't think I would ever use these models in my dnd games. I watched the preview video, and now I HAVE to use these models in my dnd games. This is awesome!

You’ve nailed this …. Like other commenters I was initially of the mindset that I don’t need space hippos but having seen these then I have to get them into my game. Looking to run Tomb of Annihilation in the New Year for a group and there is going to be some crash landed Giff on the island …. Awesome job.

Thanks for the feedback! We're experimenting a bit, as you could tell, and are very happy with the results. The set after this will be a huge Dragonborn army structured in a way that is similar to this, but with a couple of improvements we found along the way would benefit the set.

I had the same thoughts as the other commenters Step 1: Freaking hippos with guns, not gunna buy this stupid crap Step 2: Wow there are actually SO MUCH VARIATION and so many without guns that work in my world, and the models are all STUNNING Step 3: Dude, dont buy this, you dont need a crap ton of hippos. You dont need hippos Step 4, 3 hours later: dang those hippos do be cool tho Step 5, now 6 hours later: *Buys the incredible dope and varied hippos*

This set is a homerun imo. If you just went through every lineage from D&D and/or Pathfinder and made a set like this for each of them, that would be perfect. Great work!
