No good deed goes unpunished, that's for sure.

You found the merman creature half-dead, gasping for air outside your home. He'd seen you on your morning walks by the seashore and fell irremediably in love with you - the rest is poorly calculated history. Only halfway through did it occur to him that dragging himself all the way to your place was not as easy as swimming. That’s what happens when you let your throbbing...heart decide.

Like a good Samaritan, you dragged him inside and filled your bathtub with salted water. He was alive and overjoyed within hours.

“I can help you return home tomorrow,” you said, thoughtfully researching potential transport means for this oversized fish.

“Home? I thought I’m home already,” he confessed, tilting his head. “I came here to be with you.”

You’d only attempted to ship him back once, and he was heaving against your door once more the very next morning. Drying up like that couldn’t have been good for his health, so you begrudgingly agreed to keep him.

Having a needy merman in your bathtub comes with its advantages, if being humped relentlessly is your thing. It does, however, involve a lot of mopping. Despite your pleas to keep his wet, scaly self within the confines of the bathroom tile, the creature often prefers to follow you around instead. You’ve woken up to his form above you, as he eyed you with adoration and gently stroked your features; the idyllic feeling only lasted a moment, until you realized your sheets were drenched and the wooden floor littered with puddles.

“How many times-” you begun with a grimace, but he cheekily silenced you with a kiss.

There, there, furniture is replaceable. Breeding you? Not so much.
