Despite his stunning looks, the butterfly hybrid is rather plain and awkward. He speaks too quietly, stutters when he's nervous, and doesn't have any strong interest or passion outside of his streaming. It's no surprise that any visitor drawn in by the bright appearance is quick to leave once they have a taste of the pitiful lack of charisma.

Nonetheless, he has a dream: to make it big. One day, he will be looking at thousands upon thousands of followers and viewers. If his character is not enough to achieve such a feat, then he'll cling to whatever glimmer of promising hope comes to him. In this case, it happened to be you. As it turns out, monsters out there find humans fascinating. He's almost jealous how easy it is for you to gather the crowds; simply existing is enough to earn the gawking of all these beastly creatures.

If you don’t mind being recorded, it’s an instant partnership. He’ll be like those annoying YouTube moms who follow their offspring with a camera for every occasion. Did you just sneeze? It’s now part of a ‘human making sounds’ compilation. His romantic gestures will often be followed by a very obvious hint that it’s all part of a recording stunt. He might even stop in the middle of railing you to suggest a different position, as he just scrolled through his comments and stumbled upon new ideas. You would most certainly complain about this lack of engagement if it wasn’t for the fact that his viewers are indeed very good at giving advice. There seems to be a certain pride in figuring out your mood and coming up with the best plan of action. “I told you they’d come from that,” one monster declares smugly as you twitch and quiver on screen.

If you’re camera shy, the butterfly hybrid will try his best to work with whatever crumb of content he can milk out of you. Alright, alright, he won’t show your face. Can he at least include your hand in the frame, so the viewers will believe him about having lunch with you? Please, you have to understand. His livelihood is at stake! Depending on how eager he becomes, the staff will occasionally become involved. “Hello everyone,” he says as the lens sways and rattles, “I am currently being dragged away by the manager. Don’t worry, it’s a mere delay, a temporary setback.”

It is important to note, however, that the winged oddball doesn’t see you exclusively as his ticket to success. He did initially find you somewhat annoying, always knocking on his door and taking your time with those damn sheets. On the other hand, you’re the very first person to see him beyond the dazzling looks. You don’t mind that he mumbles his greetings, or that he doesn’t know anything about whatever’s popular or trending in the world. Your smile is genuine. You’re always patient. Moreover, he seems to be gradually developing much more complex preferences as he learns from you: he will listen to the music you like, and watch the shows you love, and try out the games you recommend.

“Is that the show I told you about,” you inquire, standing up from his bed.

“H-huh? Yeah, well, it’s alright,” he stumbles, hands hovering above the monitor with a flush face. “Decent.”

“You already went through 3 seasons, and I mentioned it yesterday.”
