After the great reception of the Vortex Club and Cold Nook NPC events, I wanted to ask:

Do you enjoy this kind of Patreon participation activity?

I’ve been thinking that maybe we could take it even further in the future, allowing Patreon members not only to submit NPCs, but also things like:

Weapons

Armor

Items

And other small pieces of game content

Of course, I also understand that a few people have sent me private messages saying they still want to continue seeing my own original characters and ideas, and I want to make it clear that this would not change. Original characters and my own worldbuilding would absolutely remain a core part of the game.

I just want to know if you’d like to see more community participation, or if this kind of thing should stay as an occasional event for NPCs in towns and special places.

I think this is fine for taking the work off of you for trying to come up with like thirty random NPCs, but I'm worried having more audience input is going to open the floodgates for requests.

While I do like these, but I feel they should be kept more special, because it's good to take in suggestions, but seeing your own creations and thoughts should be priority, because I feel that it could be a slippery slope where you outsource too much of the game suddenly you don't recognize what you've made and start to dislike what you made then drop it, and I don't want to see this great game abandoned because of the community, that would be very sad.

I'd first like to say that I love these events! The characters you've generated are so fun and ive enjoyed seeing them come to life. That being said, i feel that the best way to go about it is to use "us" as a tool. At the end of the day this is your project that you've been pouring your time and sweat into, and we want to support you to see it through, and if that means "offloading" some of the tedium onto us so you don't burn out then I think that is amazing and I'd love to see more. But what i hope doesn't happen is that you feel OBLIGATED to put in more just cuz we like it. As fun as the events are, it would kill me to know that you were feeling FORCED to do something you didn't want to just to appease the crowd At the end of the day this is YOUR story and we (I) are just happy to be a part of the journey, so feel free to use us as much or as little as you need/want, and I'll be there for each one. Just don't ever feel that you have to do these events. Its whatever fits with your vision for this game we all have come to support :)
