✏️ Zendaria’s Corruption 0.7.0 — Week 2 Devlog 🌴 (Patreon)
Content
Hello! 💜
The pre-production phase for Coronado is finally over!
New "Storyteller" Class 📖
This class is made specifically for players who just want to enjoy the story without worrying about combat, grinding, or difficult puzzles.
With this class, you'll be able to:
Finish almost any battle instantly.
Skip puzzles without having to solve them.
Enjoy the story without worrying about equipment, levels, or combat strategies.
Of course, regular classes and combat will still be there for everyone who enjoys them!
New Difficulty Settings ⚔️
Added a new difficulty system!
You can now select your preferred difficulty directly from the Options Menu.
There are four available settings:
Easy
Normal
Hard
Extreme
This should make the game more enjoyable for different types of players, especially considering how much feedback I've received about combat balance. It affects combat and stats.
New Dialogue Log System 💬
There is now a Dialogue Log that lets you go back and read previous dialogue if you accidentally skipped something or forgot what a character said.
The default shortcut will be Q.
For mobile players, there will also be an option to display a button directly on the screen, so you won't need a keyboard to use it.
Auto-Skip Dialogue ⏩
Added an Auto-Skip feature!
When enabled, dialogue will automatically advance extremely quickly, without having to press anything. It will automatically stop when you reach a choice, so you won't accidentally skip an important decision.
You can toggle it whenever you want by pressing TAB, or enable and disable it directly from the Options Menu.
This should be especially useful for players replaying older content or revisiting scenes they've already seen.
Dialogue Speed Settings ✨
You can now choose between different dialogue speeds, including:
Normal text speed.
Faster text speed.
Instant text display.
With the instant option, the entire dialogue appears immediately instead of waiting for the letters to appear one by one.
New Main Story Content — Marina's Ship! 🚢
I've started adding new main story content aboard Marina's ship.
I've wanted to give Marina's crew a little more personality, and I think having some activities aboard the ship is a fun way to do it.
Three New Minigames! 🎲
I've added three playable minigames:
Dominoes 🎲
Darts 🎯
Eating Contest 🍖
All three minigames have five difficulty levels, so you can play casually or challenge yourself against harder opponents.
For now, these minigames are part of the new content aboard Marina's ship, but I also plan to add NPCs who will let you play them in different taverns around the world.
Places like Solitude, Willo'wisk, and several locations in Thamora will eventually have NPCs you can challenge to win some extra money!
Coronado — New Maps & Pre-Production Finished! 🌴
I also started creating the first new maps for Coronado!
And finally, the pre-production phase is officially finished!
I spent quite a lot of time searching for tilesets, editing assets, looking for references, preparing the visual style, etc...
Sorry if the first couple of weeks felt a little slow when it comes to actual Coronado content.
Unfortunately, whenever I start a completely new continent, there's a lot of preparation involved. I need new assets, new visual references, new environments, and sometimes even new ways of creating certain things.
But now that all of that is ready, I can finally start focusing directly on building Coronado and its content!
Old Scene Remastering 🎨
I'm still working on replacing the old scene images made with the previous AI model.
As mentioned last week, the goal is to replace every old-model scene image for 0.7.0.
Portrait & Pixel Art Improvements 🖌️
The replacement of older AI-generated pixel art is also still ongoing.
This week, I'll also start on commissioning new portraits for the protagonists' Coronado outfits.
New CRT & Retro Filters! 📺
Added some new visual filters to the game! These are completely optional and can be enabled or disabled directly from the Options Menu.
CRT Filter
You can now enable a CRT filter that makes the game look a little more like an old television or computer monitor.
There are two settings:
Soft CRT — A subtle retro effect.
Intense CRT — A much stronger effect.
Game Boy Filter 🟢
The classic green Game Boy look!
This filter changes the colors of the entire game to resemble those old monochrome green handheld screens.
It's a pretty aggressive filter lol, but I think it's a fun option for anyone who wants to experience the game with that classic Game Boy aesthetic.
Amber Filter 🟠
Another retro look, inspired by those really old amber computer monitors.
Just like the Game Boy filter, it affects the entire game, but I think this one is a little easier on the eyes.
Monochrome Filter ⚫
A simple black-and-white filter.
Mixing Filters
All of these retro color filters are compatible with the CRT effect!
A lot of this week was focused on improving the overall experience, especially for players who want to enjoy the story without dealing with difficult combat or puzzles.
And now that Coronado's pre-production is finished, I can finally spend more time working on its maps, quests, characters, and main story.
Thank you so much for all the support, feedback, and suggestions you've been leaving lately. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to participate in the polls and share their ideas.
I hope you're all having a nice Sunday, and that you get some time to relax before the new week starts!
Love u all. I'll see you in the next Friday Poll! 💜
