November Zahn extra teaser! (Patreon)

I've been working full speed ahead on all the extras for the month. The Raven Tier ones, of course, take up more time, but that hasn't stopped me from paying some attention to Zahn too. I have their abduction POV outlined, and draft started for the Ch 3 bath scene POV, which is sampled below.

The plan is to have everything posted at least between the 15th-20th, if not sooner.

Should I meet the stretch goals and get a new IF sample out as well, I'd plan for that by the end of the month. ^_^

Now, for your little Zahn treat:

"Are you certain you don't want any?" the kind merchant asked again.

Zahn hesitated. He/She did​​​​ want one of the tasty fruits Nathanael had offered, but they were clearly expensive.

//I'm not supposed to eat fine food…but how would they know if I did? I shouldn't think like that.//

He/She shakes his/her head. "It's…fine, I'm okay."

Nathan folded his arms, the pretty and plump orange still clutched in his large hand. The look on his face made Zahn feel like he/she had been caught doing something bad. He shook his head. "I don't know what I will do with such an absurdly polite group." He gestured toward Oswin. "That one won't eat of my tasty fruits either, Shadow doesn't appreciate the beauty of citrus, and now you deny me as well." He sighs, but smirks down at Zahn. "If Ravinder rejects my offer, I shan't ever recover."

The pilgrim bites down on a smile as he/she hears Oswin grumbling under his breath.

//He's nice…//

"Fine," Zahn says, holding out a hand. "If you insist, I would like it…please."

The merchant smiles and places a hand over his heart. "Even a please! Stars have mercy."

Nathan holds out the succulent fruit toward Zahn, but as he/she reaches for it, he snatches it away. Zahn looks to see Nathan with a crooked grin and mirth in his hazel eyes. So, he/she reaches again, faster this time. It's snatched away.

"Now, now," Nathan goads. "You'll need to work for it."
