Meet Sarah Heizel, from yesterday's shooting! If you see her work elsewhere, you're going to see a tiger of a woman, a femme fatale, with lots of make-up and a powerful look. But the girl I met was much more lovely, tiny and delicate, a delicious 23 YO young lady, a next door woman in many ways, but a very good model as well.
And I managed to keep my promise, using mainly the camera that will ensure faster editing:- Leica SL2-S with 580 frames in total, only 52 frames with the Contax-Zeiss Planar T* 85mm f1.4 I've been so keen to own that I bought it 4 times, and the remaining 528 with the Leica MACRO-ELMARIT-R 1:2.8/60 because I just couldn't stop using this latter lens!- Leica M10 Monochrom + the Summicron-M 50mm with 129 frames.- Fujifilm GFX 50S II + "Martin" (the Zeiss T* 1,4/85mm Planar ZF named after the Patron that sponsored part of the purchase) with only 113 frames. For a total of 822 frames.
The Leica MACRO-ELMARIT-R 1:2.8/60mm lens was the real revelation of this day with Sarah and shot most of the photos, partly because I was so happy to use again the Leica SL2-S with its easy to work with viewfinder, and partly because the lens was performing really well, judging from what the back screen on the camera was showing to me (and to the model).I started shooting some body details with the Macro lens, because Sarah is comfortable with this kind of pictures and with me getting very near her face or nipples, and because I just couldn't get myself to unlock this lens from the front of my camera any more. This might be because it is a similar focal length to my beloved VoigtlƤnder Nokton 58mm f1.4 SL II, a lens I've been using so much in the past, or because I could get so near to my subject, or because the images really impressed me... all I know is the lens stayed on until the end of the session!
The photo I've selected for today was shot with the Leica SL2-S + Leica MACRO-ELMARIT-R 1:2.8/60mm, because I wanted to show you why I liked it so much, but also the 3 photos I will post on Monday have been shot with the same camera and lens combination. And yes, Sarah was comfortable with handcuffs, but also with a couple of rosaries I asked her to wear. All in all she is a very versatile model, and we're probably going to tackle together the abandoned hospital in a few weeks time... TBC.
And now I'm off to a well deserved sleep, because Milan is always a huge effort, or is it working with these young and fit ladies that makes me so exhausted?
