Welcome to the Fall Gallery! 🍂 In this special collection, I’m excited to share some of my personal photographs—completely free for you to use as drawing and painting references (no attribution required). Whether you’re sketching, painting, or just in need of a little inspiration, these images are here to spark your creativity. I will continue adding more images here as I process them.

You might recognize a few of these flowers and leaves from my own watercolor explorations, while others are still waiting their turn on my ever-growing "to paint" list. There’s always so much inspiration out there and never quite enough time to capture it all, right? But hey, that’s the beauty of it—art is a journey, and these images are meant to be part of yours, whether you're working on your next masterpiece or just doodling for fun. So go ahead, dive in, and make these photos your own!

P.S. Keep an eye out for my upcoming collection of pumpkin photos! 🎃 Because nothing says "fall" like pumpkins, and let’s be honest, they make the best painting subjects (or at least the cutest ones).

Happy creating! 🍁

Hi Anna, thank you for all of this photo reference!🥰

Marilise Bernard

Sooo pretty! Love love the dahlia. Is it possible for us to share our flower photos to add to this collection? The more the merrier, right? 🤗

Anna Bucciarelli

That would be great but Unfortunately Patreon won't allow image sharing. Maybe with this in mind I'll add this collection to our Facebook group - that way anyone can add. Let me work on that. Thank you for the recommendation Marilise!

Cami W

Thanks so much, Anna! Beautiful variety!🥰

Sonia Vgs

Thank you! So generous of you.

Morgen Machen

Yes! Beautiful! I'm trying to create a composition of rose and honeysuckle for a gift and I just love the peach roses. They're not overly complicated and they have some soft shadows . I'm in love and I hope to see additional seasons. Thanks so much Anna!

As a grower of Dahlias and avid follower that paints with you, I would be thrilled to see your approach to painting their complexity! Every time I try an under painting it turns out muddy, as so often parts of each petal often have white. I just can’t seem to get it right. Maybe you can add them for fall 2027, since they are often in fall arrangements?

Anna Bucciarelli

Absolutely! I took several more reference photos this fall including a lovely peach colored variety *- they are on my to paint list and you might see them even sooner than next year;) *you will be able to recognize the exact type when you see it I am sure!!! I always learn about proper bird and flower names from this community 😊

Now that has me excited! One reason I enjoy painting with you is you have a high level of detail, yet it still feels like I am “painting” instead of feeling like I am using markers. I would hazard a guess that the random dark pink and white dahlia shown in this gallery is called “Rebecca’s World’”, because I have a broken color dahlia that looks just like it; each flower is unique.
