As requested I am working on an in-depth tutorial on how to paint green leaves - a necessary but *sometimes* tedious part of botanical art 🍃 The key concepts we will discuss in depth and apply are: value and color temperature in the context of green, so you can start incorporating these into your future paintings featuring greenery! 💚

I will show you 2 ways: beginner and advanced. Plus, will show you how I do it when vibrant flowers are involved (using the leaves from the recent 3 Red Roses video) Both techniques are effective but one is easier to implement with only 1 layer 😊

Let’s start with more common peony leaves, and if you enjoy it I’ll do a similar one on more tropical juicy greens 💚

Can't wait for the video! Thank you Anna for this lesson! Leaves seem easy but I always end up with a flat green blob that kind of looks like a leaf but it's just not right. And as always you kick me out of this state when I just can't paint and feel no energy all day long. Very much needed kick :)

I cannot wait.

Hi Laurie, Thank you! I've been working on it for some time and I hope it's useful:) I posted the main part yesterday - and just finished part #2 (it's processing now and shoud be ready tomorrow).

Same here - I spent a few years totally avoiding leaves until I figured it out - from simple 1 layer to full details:) Just finished the 2nd part today and now processing the video:)))))
