Hi All! In an effort to make your video experience better, I wanted to check in with your regarding any potential issues you may be experiencing. As most of the video creators on this Platform, I pay for VIMEO service to upload and share tutorials privately through Patreon. To date, I hear feedback from 2 subscribers:  one experiencing long buffering times, and the other not able to view the videos at all following a code update from VIMEO. Before I upload the next video tutorial, I wanted to make sure I address this - potentially switching to another platform if necessary.

No problems on my end. Like Patreon better than Skilshare. They are easier to load and find information

I am unable to access your videos through my Patreon app on my phone. If I go to Chrome and log into Patreon that way, I can see the videos. Your videos are the only one I have trouble with this.

Thanks for addressing the problem, Anna. As i told you i follow another artist here and never have video issues. I’ll check if she uses vimo or not.

Yeah, i just checked and no, she does not use vemo. It just says YouTube. Dont know if that makes sense

Absolutely! And I will be switching to YouTube based on this I think . It’s less secure but sounds like better viewer experience. Thank you Hanna! Ps: I just wish I didn’t waste $250 on Vimeo 😟

I agree sometimes it stops and I have to fiddle with it going forward and back to get it to play again

It works fine for me. I also prefer Patreon to Skillshare as Skillshare harder to navigate. The only thing I wish I could change is not to have the authentication code sent, that means I have to have my phone near me while on my computer. I wish we could just log on having our log on as enough security. Love your tutorial Anna, thank you so much for creating them for us.

I have trouble with it stopping and spinning for a while that starting again and right away stopping and spinning. Very annoying. Love you tutorials.

Thank you for addressing the issue. I didn't know that different artists used different uploading systems. I have experienced long buffering wait times or what some refer to as spinning.

If I open the video from the patreon app on my phone, I get a message "unable to play the video, tap to reload". If I open patreon from a browser on my phone it plays fine :)

I prefer YouTube because I can watch the tutorials on my TV as opposed to Vimeo.

Je vais donc toujours voir la vidéo sur youtube car sur youtube je peux mettre des sous titres en Français. C'est vraiment plus facile pour moi. Don c je pense que pour tout ceux qui ne parlent pas anglais youtube est une très bonne solution.

No problems for me at all. Maybe vimeo will refund you If you reach out and say your clients are complaining etc.

For me it's als easier to use youtube because of the language and you have more possibilities.

I am one of the persons that reached out as I cannot have the access. I usually connect using Android tablets or phone. Not sure if this I formation can help figuring out the problem. Other Patreon subscriptions use you tube and I have no issues. Thank you for this :)

I experienced some buffering and when I pause the video, when I comeback even after a couple of minutes, either it takes a bit to restart or it goes back to the beginning.

Hi There! I am very sorry you've had trouble with videos - evidently VIMEO does not work on all browsers. You can see above that a small portion of users had the same issue, but were able to fix it by using a different browser. I am very frustrated to hear about this experience, In any case, I switched back to YouTube and you should see all videos no problem going forward. I am also happy to issue a refund if you for however long you've been supporting me on Patreon) Please let me know. Thank you and Happy Holidays!

I have always had issued with Vimeo and personally, find YouTube much kinder to me.

Thank you Charlie! It’s good to know I made the right decision at the end since YouTube appears to be more user friendly. I also just heard from PATREON - it seems the feedback from creators worked and they will be rolling out secure video hosting within PATREON soon - it’s really not that secure for creators to upload through YouTube , and Vimeo (although secure) does cost a lot. I will continue to upload through YouTube until there is a better solution in place. Thank you!!
