Vritromartis naturist resort exclusive review (Patreon)

Hi guys, we are back and this time we are visiting the famous naturist resort of Vritromartis on the beautiful Greek island of Crete.

This hotel is a must visit for seasoned naturists and is also a perfect location for people who are trying the lifestyle for the first time.

Nestled on the south coast of Crete, Vritomartis is the only naturist hotel on the entire island. The closest airport is Chania in the north, and it will take you around ninety minutes to get to the destination through the winding mountain roads. The hotel does offer a shuttle service at around €100 each way, but we opted for a hire car as we wanted to explore the area on our own.

You will receive a warm welcome at reception by a very attentive team who will explain everything you need to know about the facilities. You will then be invited attend a welcome meeting where the entertainment team will guide you through some of the best local experiences and locations in the Skafia region. 

The hotel has its own spa where guests receive a 20% discount if you book within your first 48 hours of arrival. I opted for a deep tissue back massage that helped relieve any tension I had.

The hotel runs daily activities that begin at 10am and are spread throughout the day. You can do as much or as little as you like without any pressure from the staff. It was lovely to try nude yoga as a group for the first time and Kev also enjoyed a game of water polo. 

In the hotel grounds (outside) you can be naked all day but you will need to cover up when entering the hotel or having dinner. 

The main hotel has 28 rooms with sea or Mountain views and there are several bungalows outside that also include luxury rooms with their own private Jacuzzis. 

Now on to the food!!!

The variety of fresh, locally produced food was beyond our expectations and created to an exceptionally high standard. The chefs care about the food they produce are very happy to talk you through their recipes, explaining how everything is all handmade on site.

Breakfast and evening meals are included in your room rate but if you get hungry in between you can order lunch from the pool bar.

The hotel provides a free shuttle to the beach and to the port of Chora Sfakion these run regularly throughout the day.

If you do fancy a walk to the beach it will take you around fifteen minutes. 

The staff are always on hand whenever you need them and they felt more like friends by the end of the week. Friendly and professional at all times, they are also well traveled, with many able to speak multiple languages.

Top tips

• The hotel has a strict ‘no saving sun loungers’ before 10am policy, so if you don’t want your belongings to be taken to reception, don’t be a sun lounger hogger, there is no need to be.

• When you come down for dinner wait outside the main reception, the staff will seat you from there. 

• Definitely get a sea view room

Nearby to visit

Loutro- A stunning seaside town, only accessible by sea (or foot) 

Aradena gorge- A 30 minute drive west through winding mountain roads. You can walk the gorge right to the sea and this will take around 3 hours.

The hotel offers several exclusive nude boat cruises around the southern island of Crete and it has been on our to do list for a long time, unfortunately we were already booked on a private scuba dive with a local dive team. Maybe next time we will be able to tick this one off the list.

The hotel also has nightly entertainment from bingo to Greek dancers. We had a lot of fun at Karaoke and I might show you guys an exclusive of me singing at some point in the future.

Vritomartis is a place where nudity and relaxation go hand in hand. A beautiful hotel with amazing staff where there are no high walls to shield the outside world from naturism, here you can enjoy glorious uninterrupted views of the sea and sky. The popularity of this hotel is obvious in the frequency that guests return and re-book for the upcoming year.

We would certainly recommend getting in touch with the hotel early if you are wanting to book a specific date.
