Quite a bit late. I'll try to not repeat such terrible delays in the future, but the recent heat wave has me feeling all queasy. Anyway, enjoy the chapter- and let me know what you think in the comments below. You can read the previous chapters in the collection.

God damn Jon has been handling business. Really, the sooner he stabilizes his rule the more quickly he can have a private dock installed along the shore for leisure fishing between court sessions.

Rick Malone

Good finish. Jon exemplifies the “iron fist in a velvet glove” approach

Jon and Rhaena both showed the right amount of wit and ruthlessness in dealing with the aftermath of the Dance. Jon’s created a huge swath of territory for the Crownlands that cuts right through the center of Westeros. And when winter ends, he’ll have the numbers and the grain, and fleets on both the East and west coast. It wouldn’t have been possible but for the lord’s massive losses and his exclusive access to dragons. Breaking the Faith was actually doing the Faith a favor. He’s turned them into a social service entity. While they may have lost their hard power, a century or two from now the High Septon will have tremendous soft power. Both Jaehaera and Rhaenys did very well. Their actions show that the House of the Dragon is united behind Jon. Even Baela’s decision to marry Cregan shows her support. The Lannisters and Baratheons must be sweating bullets. He reduced the power of the Reach, tied the North to the Throne, taken control of the Tyrell heir, and has seized a good chunk of the kingdom in his own right. The relative power ratio has dramatically shifted in the Crown’s favor. Robert’s rebellion would be doomed from the start, under this arrangement. Hi advisors are right, though. Ruling Westeros while personally ruling all that territory would be a massive headache. He might want to learn to delegate. Fortunately, he has a wife with the right instincts, and is personally raising Viserys so he has back up. Dorne is screwed. Jon hasn’t declared war but he has declared open hunting season on the Dornish. Which means if the Tyrells, or Hightowers, or Peakes, or Baratheons, want more territory, they’re free to rip it off Dorne. Jon can wait a decade or two and consolidate his hold on the Crownlands, get through winter, and then deliver the killing blow.

Nice! Dude the most hard part of anything is finishing it. So cheers for almost completing this lol 🍻

Who's this Viserys? I'm lost

This was a great chapter like it’s really good I kid you not .

Kage

This was awesome, but it's really funny if you think you can just do one epilogue chapter 😂. In fact I would like a couple epilogues

Enthessi

Any chance you could maybe do a second epilogue chapter or add a segment at the bottom from the canon era to get some opinions about how Jon is seem centuries later?

Mae

I would like to be a fly on the wall when Alicent, Jeyne and Melinda are together, there won't be a dull day in that motherhouse XD. Also only one epilogue? 😭

VishihaHitachi

Is this Visery the same competent Hand as he was in the OG Timeline ?, time will tell i guess Jon just might attack Dorne in a few years and fold them into the true Seven Kingdoms I'm very hapy about little Jaehaera's survival her fate is so sad in the book

Cinema Man

Another GOAT chapter Gladius

Adam Daw

I loved little Jaehaera here. She knows what's up.

I know the Epilogue is planned for one chapter. But I'm hopeful we get to see the ripples down the ages at least. Like, will there be more King Jon's? Will the Targs incorporate more First Men names into their lineage with Jon's influence? The Starks having Valyrian blood now make them a desirable match for the Royal House so they don't have to overly rely on the Velaryons or Celtigars. I would especially love to see the War Against The Dead mentioned.

Taking land from the kingdoms is always risky due to the bad blood and chance it gets even your allies to rethink keeping that king in power. Jon did have the perfect opportunity though given Westeros was already exhausted from a war, close to winter, two kingdoms so utterly decimated without the original ruling House, and he retains the only dragons. As much as I feel sorry for the Tyrell lady that tried sitting the war out and could not keep their bannermen from interferring it does send two messages to the realm in that not being able to "control" your bannermen means you can lose them and that sitting on the fence is worst than fighting against Jon.

Patrick Perrault

A good, if otherwise somewhat bland summary. I don't envy you for these chapters since all the narrative tension is gone. Nothing much you can do about it if you want this chapter to exist. Looking forward to the envy one.

It was fun to see all the squabbling of various factions and the resolutions of said squabbling. Jon's own little "hour of the Wolf a la Cregan" was also a fun little bit of spice. Will be fun to see if GladiusX adds info about little Viserys, unarguably the best Hand in Targaryen history, after he grows up, and what happens with the Dornish issue. The Riverlands, near a third of the Reach, AND the Iron Isles?! Who would've believed the Usurper to be so cunning and rapacious? Gold and food, gold and food, and a citadel for House Targaryen in the West mayhaps? And as Royal holdings, they can be improved and serve as the King wishes, as well as giving House Targaryen 10s upon 10s of thousands of soldiers under their direct command. Whoowee, Jon "I'll take this for myself, thank you very much" Stark is making sure none of the surviving Highlords of the South ever feel completely safe unless they show complete loyalty. Now that the Faith of the Seven has been defanged, all that's left is the Citadel... And what will happen with all the freeranged dragons that'll be hanging around Kings Landing after Jon and Rhaena start pumping out kids, and their kids have kids, and Viserys and Jahaera have kids? Or is that why Jon "I have all these empty seats to fill" Stark is blatantly not giving over empty holdings to cousins and the like? Last few chapters, what GladiusX has NOT said has been as interesting as what has been said. And yes, I might just be a little into politics and the like, and reading into it more than GladiusX entailed. But then again I was correct about what level of change a Northern quarter in Kings Landing would bring forth, if not exactly how and how quickly. Exciting! Still want POVs from Lords and Ladies on their thoughts on Jon "I think I'll take that too" Stark. Especially after a few years have passed. Make it happen GladiusX!

Holy mole bro I expected Jon do to something that would have me at half-mast but gally Rewarding Alfred Broome's brother for his loyalty so chad, just deleting Harrenhall to use its stones for better purposes yes sir, absorbing the Iron Islands, Riverlands, and a third of the Reach (my ass had to look at a map to confirm how big of a deal this was) I busted a nut no Diddy this mf just secured Targaryen military dominance for millennia along with the North's loyalty 4x they gonna be eating that good Crownland fufu at a bargain price if every successive Targaryen king does not glaze their ancestor Jon as the GOAT they are unfilial even VS swords lets count Blackfyre, Dark Sister, Skyfall, Frostfyre, Last Kiss, and Ashclaw for the heir? This is sick work I love it 😂😂😂

David

Four kingsguard with a dragonsteel sword are enough for now. Geez Jon you’re gonna get even more somehow? Next thing you know he’s going to get decked out in Valyrian steel armor and one for his dragon too. 😂

Ronin Katarn

Kind of bummed this is coming to an end.
