Wow I cannot say I expected Melisandre to take this path… like ever

I love how so many characters that would usually be shoved to the wayside or seen as sideliners, have more purpose in this story. Even supposed 'villains' in our eyes are proving to be much more complicated and not one-sided in their ambitions or motives. Never would have expected Melisandre to take this route. Same for Joffrey and Cersei. Mace Tyrell also showing he isn't just a bumbling fool as well.

Outstanding job of taking unexpected pathways with characters we know so well. A Joffrey obsessed with the Old Gods is hilarious, and absolutely believable. Tyrion is happier that ever because he has little to do but make coin for the crown (and himself) and is going to have a blast watching his father eviscerate his sister for the worst royal marriage since… who the hell knows? Talk about useless 😂. Oh Cersei. Still pretending to be her father reborn. Without any of his intelligence 😂. Watching Renly flounder is somehow so satisfying. I mean I don’t want to root for the Lannisters, but with Stannis dead, the Starks out of the picture, and Varys plotting quietly. Who else are you gonna watch? How does the saying go… I know the game is rigged, but it’s the only game in town. Now let’s watch while Joffrey and Cersei somehow fuck it up 😂. Excellent work.

I wonder if Joffrey loves the Old Gods because they don’t really have all the rules and commands that the Seven do. I’ve always wondered if Joff really was Robert’s son. I’ve never had a good opinion of Robert so… hahaha. Mace is a silly goose a lot of the times but even he sees right through Renly 😭 Renly continues to make me laugh btw. Awww I love that the Stark men left in KL are happy in their marriages tbh hahaha I have no idea how Tywin will react to everything. I love this take of Melisandre, I feel like I can understand and actively root for her like never before!
