Alright folks, this is literally it. Let's see if I can write a war better than GRRM could....

You can find the previous chapters in the collection.

Does Rickon posses some form of Clairvoyance only focused on events affecting the present? Because if it is it sounds like Jon is fucked at the moment

Crimson Tourniquet

Really good chapter as usual. Excellent job writing the battle. You did great describing how chaotic everything was while still giving the audience an idea as to what was going on. I like that we see that there’s very real consequences and stakes with the death of oberyn and I presume the lord commander as well. All that being said, I’m itching for more progress in Jon’s perspective. We haven’t seen anything from him in 3 or so chapters and it feels like we haven’t seen any real progression from him in even longer. Feels like even though the story started with him and kinda revolves around his character and storyline, he’s become a bit of a background character. I’m confused why he’s staying in one place for so long even though he knows he can’t hold out indefinitely. What’s the desired endstate there? If it’s just to bide time for Westeros to prepare, I don’t know that it really makes all that much sense, as eventually he’ll be overwhelmed and killed, leading to no net difference in the fate of Westeros. Shouldn’t he have just gathered as many free folk as possible and taken them to the Wall ASAP? It just feels like he doesn’t have much of a plan besides “hold out as long as possible and kill as many Walker and Wights as we can.” Regardless, this is a fantastic story and I’ll absolutely keep reading

Omg so sad to see Oberyn died but this time there’s really no one to blame but the Others. So let’s hope his family aims their anger at that. Myrcella is going a good job with the refurbishments and actually taking note of all the connections Ned Stark has! At least someone is making use of them lmao

SwiftFate

Bit disappointed to see Oberyn die like that. Felt like he could have had a bigger role to play in confusing the political situation a bit. But it makes sense and shows that even skilled fighters will die against the Others if they don't understand the threat they actually pose.

Doubledoor

Huh, I expected Jon to rescue the Night's watch for passage south, but I guess the recruits have been put to good use and there was no real need for a rescue. Sad to see Oberyn die in such an ultimately small role but very reminiscent of the original ASOIAF.

Jacob Hall

One thing I realized once Faegon lands he will be expecting Stark support since he believes them to be his mothers family, but he won't get it which could cause his identity crisis and cost him support among Westeros as a whole
