“Alright… Okay…” Monica said to herself.
She was standing in the desert, being given plenty of space. She shook both of her hands like she was trying to dry them after washing them, a movement which Harry guessed was her way of trying to psyche herself up.
Ultimately, nothing happened, and she looked at Harry, who was standing next to Wanda roughly twenty feet back.
“I really won’t break anything?” Monica asked.
Harry raised an eyebrow, sweeping his arms around them at the VAST expanse of nothingness.
“The most that might happen is you fry a cactus,” Harry said. “Trust me, there isn’t a human within a hundred miles. They literally can’t enter: the enchantments won’t let them. This is MACUSA’s curse testing ground.”
“Sorry, it’s what’s testing ground for WHAT?” Monica asked.
“The Magical Congress of the United States of America,” Harry explained patiently. “They’re the governing body for American Wand Wizards. They have a long standing love for blowing things up. I can’t blame them; I love a good explosion myself. They’re always testing new curses that make bigger booms, and this is the land they use to do it.”
Ah, New Mexico. The land of deserts so sun scorched and barren that no one would miss a patch if it up and exploded. Harry inhaled deeply, relishing the scent of sacrificial land.
“The only ones here are Wanda and I, and you aren’t going to hurt us,” Harry said. “So just relax, Monica. Be yourself. Let loose.”
“Okay…” Monica said. She started doing jazz hands again before forming two fists.
Taking a deep breath, Monica focused…
The next second, she was two hundred feet in the sky.
“She’s certainly fast!” Wanda said, shielding her eyes with her hand and leaning back to look into the sky. Harry did the same thing next to her.
“Fast, and can fly. She must have intangibility, too, given the way she left her clothes behind last time,” Harry said. “Luckily, we haven’t had a repeat of that.”
“Luckily? Do you mean you didn’t enjoy the view?” Wanda asked cheekily.
“That’s neither here nor there,” Harry said with a straight face.
Wanda smiled knowingly. It had, after all, been a VERY nice view.
“Does it look like she’s spinning to you?” Harry suddenly asked.
Wanda refocused on Monica, who was coming down quickly. “Yes… Head over feet, too.”
“Oh. Head over feet is NEVER good,” Harry said.
“No, head over feet is never good,” Wanda agreed.
They looked at each other.
“Should I handle it, or do you want to?” Harry asked.
“She’ll enjoy it more if you do it,” Wanda said, smiling innocently.
Harry rolled his eyes. All the same, he stepped forward.
The next moment he’d appeared in the air. It was tricky business to appear in the right spot, but he managed it, wrapping his arm around Monica’s shoulder in order to arrest her spinning.
“Imgonnadie! Imgonnadie! Imgonnadie!” Monica was screaming.
“You’re not, I’ve got you,” Harry said soothingly.
He pointed his wand downward, pulling a very neat trick that he absolutely would NOT recommend any young wizards to imitate.
Harry cast a banishing charm at the ground directly underneath their feet. As he did, he carefully modulated the strength of it, slowly changing the force so that he and Monica gradually slowed to a stop. They were barely moving when their feet were a few inches off of the ground.
Harry canceled his magic and they dropped down, landing as lightly as if they’d jumped from the bottom step of a staircase. Monica didn’t release him, clinging on and hyperventilating.
“The two of you look comfy!” Wanda shouted, cupping her hands around her mouth to be heard from a decent distance away.
Monica was so shaken that she didn’t even react to the teasing.
“That was a good start,” Harry said. “Though it’s probably best to slow down the method slightly, so that you don’t have a mental breakdown before getting these powers under control.”
Monica nodded quickly, her curly natural hair bouncing.
Thirty minutes later, Wanda was reclining on a beach chair with an umbrella up to provide her with shade. There were two more identical chairs positioned in the shade for if Harry or Monica wanted to use one, all summoned with the help of Harry’s magic, but they were going to remain empty for a while longer. At the moment, Harry and Monica were busy.
He had her sitting with her legs crisscrossed, both of them out in the sun. Harry was sitting in front of her in the same position. The sun was hot enough that he’d applied a cooling charm on himself, but he didn’t want to do this in the shade. He had suspicions about how Monica’s powers worked, and if he was right, it wasn’t out of the realm of possibility that the sunlight might actually help her master them.
“Alright,” Harry said. “Do you remember the feeling from when you tapped into your powers? That moment right before you shot into the sky, when you stopped holding back?”
Monica nodded slightly. “Yeah, I… I think I do.”
“Good. I want you to focus on that. Don’t try to do anything yet! Just rediscover that feeling,” Harry said.
Monica followed his instructions, her first action being to close her eyes.
“No,” Harry said gently. “Leave them open.”
Monica seemed surprised. However, she trusted him, cracking them open.
Harry stared directly into her eyes. She quickly started shifting nervously, glancing at him uncertainly.
“Try not to think about me,” Harry coached her gently. “Just search for the feeling again, no matter what you see me doing.”
Monica nodded twice, then delved into herself, almost like she was meditating.
As soon as she did, Harry formed a connection between their minds, using legilimency via eye contact.
As Monica conjured the correct feeling, Harry followed along every step of the way. He understood what she was feeling just as much as she did: which wasn’t very much.
It was kind of like there was something buzzing inside her stomach, like a beehive had been surgically inserted there. When Monica tried to, she could stir up the beehive. By shaking it, the bees would fly around, and the buzzing would increase. That was when her powers activated.
By channeling the buzzing in different ways, or to different parts of her body, it seemed possible to create different effects. However, this was conjecture on Harry’s part, a theory only possible for him to craft because of the time he spent inside Wanda’s mind.
Monica’s powers had come from interacting with Wanda’s magic. As he spectated Monica’s mind and the things that she was feeling, Harry was starting to suspect that Monica’s powers were linked with Wanda’s. Although they might materialize in completely different ways, Wanda’s powers had birthed Monica’s special abilities, the way a mother might birth a child. In other words, they were related.
Remembering being inside Wanda’s mind and the ways that Wanda used her abilities, Harry started to coach Monica.
“Feel that buzzing? Amplify it… But not too hard! Good, Monica, good! Now try to bring it here.”
Harry touched Monica’s wrist, massaging the base of her hand. Monica followed his instructions; seconds later, blue light pooled in the palm of her hand.
“Oh my god…” Monica said. “I’m doing it!”
She wasn’t doing much of anything, only making the light appear right now… But she hadn’t lost control. That was enough for her to see it as a major win.
Harry smiled. “Alright, now let's try the other side.”
Monica channeled her internal power to various different parts of her body. She made identical lights form in her left palm. When she channeled energy into her legs, they briefly turned intangible, though with Harry’s calming presence in her mind (whether Monica recognized it was there or not) she was able to calmly cancel it before sliding out of her pants.
Everywhere she channeled power to, Harry touched first, directly her the next place to try. Although he didn’t comment on it, he did notice that Monica subtly shifted toward his hand whenever he did.
“Alright. Let’s try your eyes,” Harry said.
He laid his hand on her cheek with his fingers reaching up to her temple. Immediately, Monica’s eyes changed, filling with light to the point that they lost their definition, pupil and iris blending together under a sheen of bright colors.
“My vision just got weird. I think I’m looking at light!” Monica said.
“That’s… Great!” Harry said, clearing his throat.
Fortunately, the change to Monica’s eyes hadn’t ended his legilimency probe. He maintained his presence in her mind; although when he first saw the change, Harry had reacted reflexively and pushed his probe slightly deeper, worried that he’d be kicked out otherwise and Monica would lose control.
This slight deepening was enough for him to read some of her internal monologue, which took a surprising enough turn that it’d caused Harry to hesitate choosing his words.
With Harry’s hand resting on her face, Monica had thought: “His fingers feel nice. They smell nice. When was the last time someone touched my face? Was it Mom?”
Feeling like he’d impinged on her privacy, even if it was accidental, Harry immediately withdrew slightly. He removed his hand and Monica’s eyes returned to their normal brown. He didn’t need to be reading her thoughts to notice that she looked a little disappointed.
“Alright. Let’s try one more thing,” Harry said. “I want you to focus all the energy right HERE.”
Harry laid his hand on Monica’s stomach, planting his palm over where her bellybutton lay. In other words, the epicenter of her power.
Right away, as soon as his hand touched her stomach, Monica made a strange face.
“I feel… Something, that’s for sure,” Monica muttered.
Her voice sounded strained.
“Is it about your powers?” Harry asked. “Talk me through it, Monica. Explain what you’re feeling to me.”
While he talked, he slid his hand around her stomach. When Monica winced, Harry worried that her powers were getting out of control, and slid his fingers under her shirt to touch her bare stomach, preparing his magic in case she accidentally lashed out and he had to respond.
Monica’s breath turned erratic.
“I feel warm,” she panted. “And… like there’s an electric current under my skin. It’s… Maybe you should step back, Harry—”
“It’s alright,” he said. “I’m right here. I’ll help.”
He slid his hand over to her side, squeezing Monica right above her hip.
“The feeling is going lower!” Monica warned. “I really think you should back up—”
“I promise you, I’ll be fine—” Harry said.
“I’M NOT!” Monica suddenly yelled aloud.
Through the connection between their minds, Harry was hit by a wave of…
Pleasure?
“NNNGAH!” Monica exclaimed.
Deep inside her throat, blue light collected, the way that it had in front of her hands. That light shot out in an instant, forming a beam that threatened to take Harry’s head off.
He was sent sliding back, while Monica gasped and panted. Her body shook for a few seconds… Then she realized what she’d done, shooting up. “Harry!”
“I’m fine! I’m fine!” Harry said.
A magical shield was in front of his face, protecting him, though it had cracked in places. It disintegrated as he stood up, shaking his head.
“Told you I’d be alright,” Harry said, offering Monica a smile.
“Yeah…” Monica said.
She trailed off, looking at the ground. Where she had been sitting, Wanda tilted her sunglasses—also conjured by Harry—up to her forehead.
“Are you two alright?” Wanda shouted.
“We’re great!” Harry yelled back.
Monica didn’t answer, standing awkwardly. “I… I’d like to be done with this for right now.”
“That sounds good,” Harry said. “We’ll call it for the day.”
Monica was clearly relieved that he didn’t ask WHY she wanted to stop.
Of course he didn’t ask. He’d been inside her head when it happened. He KNEW.
Monica Rambeau happened to be a woman starved of affection. She hadn’t dated since she was in high school, always thinking she was too busy. Since her mom died, she’d barely even talked to people, let alone been touched by anyone. All of these were things Harry had seen in a flash while he was inside her head.
Monica only lost control of her powers after losing control of something else. When Harry touched her on the stomach, the thing that had really gotten going wasn’t her superhuman abilities, it was what lay between her legs.
She was so backed up that just by rubbing her stomach and squeezing her side, Monica had managed to cum.
Harry hadn’t known that was possible… But it did give him exactly the clue that he needed.
The closer Monica got to her instincts… Reproductive instincts, for example… The more easily her powers came to her.
Already, a plan was starting to come together in his head.
They’d be calling it on her training for the day, sure.
Because when night came, Monica wasn’t just going to train using them, she was going to be MASTERING them.
