I will be posting the reaction to film Z tomorrow. I really enjoyed watching it. I know movies aren't canon but are there any parts that are? If its gna spoil dont tell me but if not let me know.

when it comes to the movies the characters are canon but the events in it are not. Unless stated by Oda

So as long as it's mentioned in the main story it's canon. So basically Z is a character but his story could be different later on?

There is a debate on this matter.. Technically, Z was never mentioned in the manga, unlike Shiki. And I don't recall Oda saying anything about Zephyr, whether he is canon or not(if someone has any link to an interview / SBS please do share it with me) I would like to believe he is though, cause I loved him. I'm happy that you liked the movie! It's my second favorite ❤️

I really did. The ending kind of got me in my feelings. I loved how Kuzan ultimately knew how Z would be at the end. And when he started singing😩😭

That song is just beautiful! The words, the voice, the timing... They used this really well to be able to break hearts! I couldn't help crying at the end... And that short scene with him as a kid, saying he's a hero named "Z"... That broke me... Even when he lost all hope in the world, he was secretly still hanging on that innocence from back then... Still hoping to become the hero he was dreaming of growing up to be..

Omg Im so glad you said that. I cried too! I even cried when Gali had on a pirate costume at the end. It was like showing he identified Luffy as being a Hero

I do cry a lot while watching One Piece haha and I don't cry easily when it comes to movies.... That scene was emotional and beautiful ❤️ I love how Luffy inspired him pretty much like he was inspired by Shanks.

Z the character is canon, it's stated in Vol 1000 that Hina (34) and Smoker (36) are among the last several students of Zephyr besides Ain and Binz. Borsalino (58) and Sakazuki (55) are his first students. Kuzan (49) is among the third wave of Zephyr's students. The debate comes down to if his backstory is canon or not, it's said that the 7th warlord joined during the timeskip and since he was actually teaching students it would make sense that his backstory is canon as well. Since there is a new 7th warlord that hasn't been revealed yet, a lot of people take this as further proof that he is canon. Also the backstory was done by Oda so people consider it as canon. The only reason some people don't consider it canon is because there is no reference to the back story in the manga or anime.

Film Z is fine, it's not "canon". But make sure to watch Film Gold" AFTER the Dressrosa Arc is finished! :)

Truth is that Zephyr is actually canon... and was the one who taught Kizaru ... but thats the only thing canon
