You didn't miss anything with Silco, that's the beautiful thing about this show. It's 100% valid that you feel how you do. I will say though, you're absolutely right. He did realize too late what those feelings were and what they meant. There is no doubt in my mind that Silco would NOT have given her to them for peace, he would have burnt everything down for her. That doesn't mean you have to see him in a better light, he didn't earn that. This show goes out of it's way with pretty much every character to show how non black and white things are in the world. I've seen this show so many times and watched so many reactions, and even with that being said, I still felt every emotion like it was the first time right along side you. There's a lot here to unpack and I want to talk about so much, but I can't do so without spoilers sadly, so I'll go into the one thing that the show doesn't exactly explain super well. Caits dad gave her the family key, and said it's her legacy. With that family in particular, it's the lady of the house that steps up and is head of the house, so her having that key is like a wright of passage saying she's in charge now. When we saw her use it and you asked if it was family secrets that she saw, that's kind of it, but it's also more than that. She's seeing archived history of her family and it's direct impact on Piltover and the undercity. She's seeing basically everything there is to know about all of that thanks to this key. Looking forward to the next episode, hope you're having a good time of things!

Also, quick not on the title of the episode. Every episode so far, in some way, the title has been said in either a characters line or in a song, and just like the first episode of season 1, this one is in a song. The one that plays while Cait is using the key for the first time, before she comes into the council meeting saying she'll lead a strike team. Heavy Is The Crown is the name of the song, which is also the name of the episode.

Kim's First Take

Interesting! I had no idea that the title were literally pulled from lines in the episode. I'll have to watch out for them now.

Yea, for all the ones so far, and for episode 3 of this season since you've already posted it, I'll list each one so far. S1 E1 Welcome To The Playground This is the song that starts playing when we first get introduced to the undercity, and that phrase is in the lyrics. S1 E2 Some Mysteries Are Better Left Unsolved When Jayce is on trial and Heimerdinger vists him in his cell, he tells Jayce that some mysteries are better left unsolved. S1 E3 The Base Violence Necessary For Change Silco has Vander captured and starts uses it as the start of his big conversation before putting him in the chair that the kids find him in. S1 E4 Happy Progress Day This one is said a lot in the episode during the celebration for progress day, but the big one is Jinx saying it and then causing fireworks after she gave Silco the hextech gemstone that she stole. S1 E5 Everybody Wants To Be My Enemy This episode features an animated version of Imagine Dragons performing the song live in the last drop, when Vi goes in and fights Sevika for the first time. S1 E6 When These Walls Come Tumbling Down It's the lyrics of the song that plays when Vi and Cait cause the tower to collapse, when Jinx lights the blue flare for Vi to come find her so they can reuinite. S1 E7 The Boy Savior Jinx calls Ekko this when they meet on the bridge into Piltover when they have their big fight, Jinx and Ekko were very close growing up, and there's a deleted/cut scene from the episode where Ekko attempted to save Jinx from Silco, only to realize she didn't want or need to be saved since she chose to be with Silco. S1 E8 Oil And Water Vi tells Cait this phrase about their relationship and about Piltover and the Undercity before she leaves right after the whole meeting with the council, just before she goes to Jayce and shuts down one of Silcos shimmer facilities. (When Jayce accidentally killed a kid) S1 E9 The Monster You Created This is the song at the end when Jinx picks up her gun, puts the gem in, and fires on the council building. Beautiful way to end the first season. Now season 2 up to episode 3. S2 E1 Heavy Is The Crown This song is the one that plays when Cait first uses her key before announcing the the small council that's left that she's making a strike team geared with Hextech to go after Jinx. (It's actually an important song too for reasons outside the show. Look into if you're interested, it was a BIG DEAL for the band Linkin Park) S2 E2 Watch It All Burn When Jinx and Sevike meet in Silcos office and reconnect for the first time, Sevika asks Jinx what they're supposed to do now that he's gone, and Jinx responds with "Watch it all burn." S2 E3 Finally Got The Name Right When Cait and Vi catch up to Jinx underground for the big confrontation, Vi doesn't try to get her attention by saying Powder, she actually calls her Jinx for the first time. To which Jinx replied, "Finally got the name right."
