Mike! Watch the first one before you watch the second one. Jay’s half-remembered recap of the original does not do it justice. Yes, it’s 1982 Disney live action cheese. But it’s genuinely worth your time and you’ll enjoy Legacy (and I daresay Ares) more for your efforts.

After spending over $100 million building a rollercoaster based on 'Tron Legacy' at Walt Disney World with Daft Punk's soundtrack music playing throughout and selling merch based on it, there's no way Disney would be stupid enough to then make a sequel that craps all over that movie, right? I hate those movies... the first one was okay enough when I was a kid, but got progressively worse with every rewatch, "Legacy" was a godawful piece of shit from day one. The best thing that came out of that one was the porn parody... at least there was a reason, why some programs are male and some are female... :/

Tron was shot in 65mm super panavision. Grab a 4k copy, it's worth watching for that alone.

Nice intro! It's an edited version of the MC in the Roadhouse announcing NIN. Their song is one of the best in the whole series of Roadhouse songs. I only like Shadow by Chromatics more.

Jeff Bridges accidentally gets sucked into the computer in the original Tron. That was the moment where the movie disappointed me. If I remember that correctly, it was because the antagonist should have trapped him. And then, for a reason I don't remember, the movie did not interest me anymore. Probably because the movie focused on those computer games, when it should have focused on the antagonist trying to kill Jeff Bridges in the computer. Or something. And maybe that's what happens in the movie. I'd have to rewatch Tron to find out.

I like Jay's intro except I think "boring" is the wrong word to describe these movies. They are too visually and musically interesting to be boring. They are more like big budget cult movies that appeal to too few people to financially justify their large budgets. They have "limited cult appeal" is how I would describe them (not as funny, but more accurate).
