Jay and Josh are back to discuss Creepshow 2! Watch as they give a middling review to a middling movie that some people inexplicably like even more than the classic first Creepshow. That don't make no sense, Poncho! Everything...literally everything...is several notches below the original in terms of quality. But does it still have merit? Sure, whatever. Who cares? Is it time for death yet?

Thanks to Jeremy Green, I always had a not-soft spot for "The Raft". Being a Stephen King reader at such a young age, I was inspired. Then, Green's boobies made me realize I needed to appreciate more than just fun storytelling.

Some of my first movie bewbs i saw was watching this over my friends house. His parents did not monitor what we’d put on tv

The best 'fat slob' character was the guy from Road House. At least they weren't cruel by making him four-eyed and balding.

i think i see that sometimes audible cricket scurrying behind Jay's chair at 2:13

Nothing like a spooky chat with the lads to ring in the weekend! 😍

Hooboy. Saw the editing timeline post and was sad knowing there would be no new video today. Then this. What an emotional rollercoaster!

There's a Creepshow series on Shudder. I only ever watched the first season. I thought it was decent. Particularly the first episode is a fairly decent adaptation of Stephen King's short story "Gray Matter."

You know, you now have to do "Creepshow 3", too... ... ... don't blame me, you started this... :/

I was trying to think of what the animation reminds me of, and it’s the cutscenes from the old Zelda CD-i games. Creepshow looks a bit better but they give me similar weirdo animation vibes.

If you guys ever wanna cover another anthology movie, I'd be curious to know what you guys think of Four Rooms. Saw it a few years ago on a friend's recommendation, thought it was pretty great.

I guess I saw Creepshow 2 because I definitely remember that lake story. I was confusing this series with Tales From the Crypt.

Amanda Foster

I really like this movie. Nothing is perfect I love the opening with Tom Savini the animation reminds me of the Legend of Zelda cartoon but it’s wonderfully quintessentially 80s. I love the Native American statue story and of course the hitchhiker story. I could do without the Raft story.

Kellic

I think this might be a first - Jay making a Star Trek reference. Mike is off screen beaming like a proud parent.

I still think "The Raft" is a goddamn lame story and one of Stephen King's worst... I never understood the notion of trying to fuck on some wooden planks on a lake to calm down your nerves when there's a monster swimming underneath you. Didn't work as written, doesn't work as filmed... also, the oil slick beastie just looks like somebody dragged some foil on a wire through the water... :/

Probably stating the obvious here, but the BBCs 'Inside No. 9' is a consistently brilliant modern horror anthology. I think there's six seasons now. Dark, funny, weird, clever, self aware, and often disturbing. It's incredible.

I remember the "Tales From the Darkside" TV series because it was one of the better anthology shows back then, but completely forgot that there was also a movie spinoff. So that movie is due for a rewatch and it's free on Pluto TV too! Win-Win!

I enjoyed watching the re:View, and I enjoyed watching it again, following along on the timeline. The video tracks. That's great entertainment! Thanks!

I thoroughly enjoyed this discussion. Going off what Jay mentioned in the end credits, the truck keeps driving and stops at the very end of the road just before it goes off screen. It sits there for a good minute doing nothing. Crap, this is all the road we have blocked off for the shoot…well we’ll just park here and call it a day. Everybody out!
