These pre-rec videos are pretty good. The old game station videos were good too, but back and forth banter between Jack and Rich is better.

You guys are awesome but you are pretty much wrong throughout the video here. It looks like you guys are just bad players. Did you even manage to beat any of the games without the chaos emeralds? All of the Sonic games are fairly easy and should be beatable in a few hours. You can spend weeks mastering each level and getting all of the chaos emeralds though so there is some depth. You can play levels in two ways: blast through them as fast as possible for time bonus or go slower and find 1ups and extra rings. Neither play method is "broken". The original marketing campaign (and actually the entire character design) were both created to match the already work in progress game engine and level designs. Sonic was absolutely developed to compete with Mario but lots of great things have their basis in competition - so what?

I actually did a spit take watching the "speed kills" segment where you do nothing by die. I remember that's why I hated sonic. I felt shitty afterwards.

That swearing compilation was soooo epic and hilarious...I truly felt your pain and frustration. I also loved the meta at the beginning -- deciding the scope of the project after it has already completed...I had a bit of a Mythbusters moment there. The self-referential way you handled it was much more creative than them though IMO...it was definitely a "breash of freth air" (so to speak). :-) These videos are turning out to be really good: they have honest and intelligent discussion, lots of great humour, and two people who judge games based on their merits and not the hype. You've already hit a good stride, and I'm interested in seeing what new games and ideas that...END!
