Ho ho ho, it's that time of year again. The time for RLM to recycle an old gimmick to diminishing results! Merry Christmas or whatever, let's watch some Cannon films! Action, sorcery, and terrible fashion awaits as the group watches Avenging Force starring Michael Dudikoff, The Barbarians starring The Barbarians, and Breakin' 2 starring a bunch of people who should be embarrassed of themselves. Happy Holidays!

Juju

Carly

Tim for another seasonal episode? God bless us every one!!! 🥰

Amanda Foster

Yay!! The return of TIM! (and Jay’s awesome Gremlins Christmas sweater 😍) it’s a Christmas miracle! 🎄👼🏻❤️

I can't think of a better way to celebrate the birth of our lord and savior Jesus "Rich Evans" Christ than RLM featuring Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo.

Eric Smit

Concerning "The Barbarians": In an interview, Ruggero Deodato explained he wanted to make a serious Sword and Sorcery movie. But 2,3 days into the shooting he found out the Paul twins couldn't act at all. They had the brains of 6 years old kids, they were goofing around constantly. It was impossible to direct them. Ruggero Deodato then decided to let them do whatever they wanted, and transformed the whole thing into a comedy.

Bort Ward

OH MY GOD!!!! My wife and I saw a confusing movie on TV a few years ago. It was dubbed in French (we were on a layover) and the plot looked like total nonsense (shootouts? Karate outfits? Bayous? Richard Roundtree?) For years we have been looking for that film to figure out what that movie was. IT WAS AVENGING FORCE! It's a Christmas miracle!

The Real Zam

They should have pulled a Neil Breen and given Santa a credit for stock footage.

Arthur Bright

Re: Breakin's scene with the broom and Breakin' 2's one with dancing on the ceiling, those are both probably references to Fred Astaire, who famously had very similar dance sequences in Royal Wedding (1951) (though with a coat rack, not a broom in the first case). Fred actually dances on the ceiling using the same means as Breakin' 2 - they rotated the whole room while the camera remained stationary.

Neil Peart, Lord of Drums

I've played through Dark Souls four times. You could tell me that the plot of The Barbarians was actually the plot of Dark Souls and I would be only slightly surprised. You could tell me the plot of Breakin' 2 was the real plot of Dark Souls and I would be only very slightly more surprised.

The Real Zam

The version of Enter The Dragon that Mike saw was a gay porno.

Jeff Kleist

Im glad Rich got a good Christmas, hope the wheel has the Christmas movies, i missed having at least one. Very Cannon Christmas 3 has to have The Apple

James Quinn

Barbarians was so cheap, instead of a village raiding scene like the beginning of Conan- it’s a circus caravan of just 4 wagons. Lo and behold! They get trained from childhood as pit fighters and musclebound (also Conan’s origin). The movie trailer is hilarious. They became... BARBARIANS!! Because a barbarian is a steroid-ed out weight lifter in the dark ages sometime after the Roman Empire. Except there’s a dinosaur. I like how they saved the twincest part until after the plot description. By the way, you NEVER THROW A SWORD in combat, throw a spear a javelin or axe, or small knife, but never a sword! And they do it all the time even in decent fantasy shows like Spartacus.

Michael Parker

Another great episode to add to the "canon." See what I did there? I made a pun. Merry Christmas!

Neil Peart, Lord of Drums

So basically Yoram Globus saw Mississippi Burning and said, "let's make that, but Cannon Style!" Also, shout out to Marc Alaimo. What an actor. DS9 was defined by the amazing depth of all its recurring characters, but he (and the writers!) brought so many incredible dimensions to Gul Dukat that it's hard to imagine any actor in history being a better fit for the role. I'm still amazed by his performances every time I watch DS9.

Great stuff, RLM. To be honest, I watched Jay pull the Barbarians cover out and thought he had gay porn, haha. I really miss that era where that B movie schlock could be seen in theaters, the Tom Savini era. That era of practical effects where CGI wasn't used for everything. Cannon, Full Moon, New World all making these crazy films and it was a crap shoot if one was actually good or good in a schlock kind of way. Anyways, Merry Christmas everyone. Thanks to RLM for another year of incredible shows.

Kellic

Have a good Christmas you guys. Hope you can take a break, you all have earned it.

Gareth McMahon

Ah glorious Cannon trash! Merry Christmas guys....

Matthew Dillard

This was a special episode, you guys. shine on you crazy diamonds

Marvin Falz

Yesterday I started reading Room to Dream by David Lynch and Kristine McKenna. On page 49 (of the e-book in Adobe Digital Editions) life-long friend of David Lynch, Jack Fisk, is quoted: "..., and David got into painting darker things - docks at night, animals dying - real moody stuff. David's always had a cheerful disposition and sunny personality, but he's always been attracted to dark things. That's one of the mysteries of David."

Marvin Falz

Thank you for another great year of entertainment! And Merry Christmas to all (Red Letter Media and the webzone), especially to lovely gentleman Rich Evans! :-)

Bill Wilson

What a strangely heartwarming episode, despite the fact that Rich Evans didn't get the chemo for his diabetes. The ancient weapons room fight scene may have been better examplified in some Bond films, like "The living daylights" or "Die another day" (the one everyone wants to forget). No exception here, Michael Dudikoff is often paired with Steve James (buff black dude with a moustache), who always outacts, outbuffs, and generally outshines him.

rachel

There was some musicality in your dance moves, Mike. You might be a better dancer than you realize. Loved this video. I love a good Clit Eastwood reference. Happy Holidays everyone!

Manuel Johnen

"Avenging Force" really should have starred Steve James... that guy had more acting ability and charisma in his little toe than Dudikoff has in his entiry body. Would have made more sense story wise, too. Thanks to James, "American Ninja III" can deal with the absence of Dudikoff, but take a look at "American Ninja IV", that one has Dudikoff AND David Bradley, but can't compensate for the absence of Steve James...

Manuel Johnen

Michael Federico

Fun fact about that rotating room in Breakin' 2. It's the same set they used on Nightmare on Elm Street to make the blood shoot out of the bed.

AllGoodNamesRGone

For those looking to imitate our favorite hack frauds, Breakin' 2 is available on tubi. Unfortunately, I did not see Avenging Force or Barbarians on there. Plenty of great Albert Pyun films though.

Billy Thompson

Popped a gummy and 20 minutes later this popped into my inbox. It’s a Christmas miracle!

Rhea

Man that rotating room scene was so cool. I hope they get to dance forever, fuck malls and capitalism and cops. Merry Christmas guys! ❤️ Oh also Jay, I don't know if you have any interest in it but I think you'd really appreciate Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio on Netflix. You both probably would. It's really a labor of love for the art of stop motion and puppetry.

Yngwie Tarantino

I do wish they watched Breakin' one just to hear them react to Turbo indignantly exclaiming, "She ain't no street dancer. She knows nothing about what we do!!" Followed by my favorite movie training montage of all time!!

Yngwie Tarantino

Also, if you watched Breakin' one you'd have caught the callback at the end of The Last Jedi!!

Jaime Gonzalez

I really enjoyed this episode. Finally decided to join on Patreon. I have been laughing watching your content for many years. E- mail me some pizza

andrew

How’s your weather now, Milwaukee? Also, “Clit.”

Aliciasheesh

Merry Christmas fellas! Thanks for another year of insightful and creative work. I’m so glad you are out there making stuff in your own authentic voice. Hope you get some time to relax and enjoy the holidays in this midwestern winter hellscape. Happy holidays everyone! ❤️

Amy Nelson

Merry Christmas! Hilarious episode. Thank you so much ❤️

James Van Sickle

My grandmother's family is from Louisiana so hearing Mike try and horribly fail to pronounce New Orleans, crawfish, and generally imitate a Louisiana accent to be wildly entertaining. I imagine this is what is like for Wisconsinites when us Southerners try a northern Midwest accent and sound like we just walked off the film "Fargo."

Manuel Johnen

R.I.P., Ruggero Deodato... the Redlettermedia curse strikes again... :(
