When I think Knock at the Woods in the Cabin of Horror, the first thing that comes to mind is those cgi windscreen wipers. Which summed up the whole movie for me.

Gotta watch Cocaine Bear before watching this. I've seen Knock at the Cabin and I gotta say..... there should be a law prohibiting Shyamalan from writing scripts. He's really a talented director, but the movie has the usual Shyamalan problem: the longer it goes on, the more ridiculous it gets....

I looked up the editor of Cocaine Bear after I watched the sample on Jay's Twitter, and it's Joel Negron, who edited a couple of bigger budgeted movies like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Pain and Gain, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014), and Thor: Ragnarok. I have only seen the reviews of these movies on Half in the Bag, but I don't remember that any of these had been deemed bad because of the editing. While it might be that the footage of Cocaine Bear is bad, that small sample could have been edited better. Maybe that's how the director wanted it and Joel Negron just did what the director wanted. Also, is it me being nostalgic or something, or has post production been better a couple of decades ago when 'fixing it in post' wasn't technically possible and directors would plan recording beforehand?

That 'babier yoda' thing was actually a thing in sailor moon. In the second story arc her elementary-school aged daughter from the future ends up in her care. She's an adorable young girl with pink hair and giant eyes. They essentially nickname her 'Sailor Mini.' Many arcs later, a mysterious space toddler with pinker hair and bigger eyes ends up with her too. She's too young to talk, so they name her ' Sailor Mini Mini'. Honestly, Sailor Mini Mini was kind of boss. Specifically because she didn't talk.

Kind of agree about Cocaine Bear. It's that tame mainstream kind of "crazy" and not nearly schlocky and outrageous enough for that premise. Still, I had an ok time watching it, much better than I expected. I guess my expectations weren't that high going in..... Same with Knock at the Cabin, agree generally, but here I didn't like it that much. Shyamalan is a really good director and his movies are always watchable but the ending and the simplistic 'just have faith' nonsense annoyed the hell out of me....
