Red Letter Media Poorly Performs Minor Tasks

From hanging pictures to repairing precious movie props, Red Letter Media is generally bad at most things. In this video, we chronicle several of the random projects that we work on in between filming and editing our normal videos. Chaos ensues.

I’ve always been able to overlook Mike’s little foibles like elderly abuse and alcoholism. However, there are limits and hating on cats is really going too far.

Amanda Foster

My thoughts while watching this fascinating video: A: Rich Evans is an amazing handyman who can build anything from almost nothing. B. Jay in a beanie is still my favorite thing add him working with power tools and *chef kiss* 😍🔥❤️‍🔥 C. I wonder if I will ever know if I’m really in love… D. Due to having a 4 year old daughter, I watch a lot of Sesame Street so when they were figuring out what to do with the Nukie tapes all I heard in my head was “I wonder, what if, let’s try” Finally, E: these video essay type things are probably my favorite RLM content.

Andre K

That was an amazing video, thanks guys!

Bugbear Grylls

I would absolutely love more "RLM fumble through everyday studio tasks" type videos. Always entertaining and interesting.

bingo bango

how long ago was that sound booth construction video? i havent seen it yet

d0nkatron 5000

I fucking LOVE this format of video you guys came up with. Excellent editing, Jay! Please, more of this. This was so much fun.

Linken

Anyone have a link to the patreon post with the sound booth building? I missed that one and can't seem to find it.

Bill Wilson

I'm sure I wasn't the only one, trying to fix the Gremlins' stand issue while watching. The issue with them, in my opinion, is the ridges focusing all the weight in small areas, thus "cutting" these holes in the necks. The top of the stand could be rounded to fit the Gremlins inside more, but the present hole is still there. The weight could be distributed by having some weight rest on the arms or elsewhere.

Dave Gesell

This was some high quality #content.

AllGoodNamesRGone

I noticed a Motel Hell poster in the lounge. That's awesome. Anyone notice starting at 16:55 in the video there looks to be a John Cena figure and Nas CD? I thought that was interesting because Mike has said they didn't know wrestling. Thanks for more BTS stuff, RLM. It's nice seeing what Hollywood mega star Rich Evans is like on a normal day.

Kyeran441

I noticed a few Smiling Friends mementos in the background. Nice!

Eileen Herbert

Can't believe I'm in a film that RLM owns a poster of. Feels like I've made it somehow. Okay, I was just the jogger in the park in Pact, but let me have this!

Marvin Falz

The soundbooth segment impressed me the most of all the segments in the video. Mike Stoklasa recording an audio book when?

19day

If I were sad and lonely, I don't think being in that sound booth would be cheering me up.

Casey Shermer

There’s a guy named Tom Spina (also on YouTube) who’s done conservation on a bunch of famous old foam puppets including a gremlin. Hope he finds this video.

Munchman

Just wanted to point out instead of a coffee table, maybe look at an end table and get two for either side of the room, one have the Gremlin and the other have a Baby Bink... Or something better... :P

Goldy Loxx

“That’s why daddy’s in charge”

SteveR

I'm disappointed that this wasn't some kind of "RLM does Taskmaster" type of thing, but still a great video regardless.

Jerry Strickland

Red Letter Media is the Schrodinger’s cat of sentimentality.

Clare J

I was trying to eagle eye and see if the David lynch poster i sent y’all last year was somewhere. You guys have so many amazing posters and prints in your warehouse it’s so cool to even just get a glance

run_away

Black is gonna show those flakes more than a neutral color will... Woodgrain of about the color of the gremlin would be best. Camouflage, basically. This was a cool video, always like it when they do something a little different.

Michael Parker

So I guess cats aren’t included amongst the furry creatures Mike has a soft spot for. Anyway, I just moved into my first apartment last summer and I’ve been decorating so I can personally relate to the challenge of trying to properly frame and hang a poster.

Jeff Kleist

Really enjoyed this. Get on rich to get that coffee table going. You can do snow white, flowers, the dress, everything. You've already got Sneezy (once the cats arrive), Grumpy, and Doc

NC Jones

Buy some fucking command strips for fucksake.

rachel

I love all the care and thought you guys put into projects. This video was great to watch. For a second, I really did think you guys ordered Ellen Ripley's gun. Like, my heart was racing about it.

JTruts

I had a permagrin while watching this, fun to see you not in character (I think?). I bet the Super VHS guy is working on an update. Thanks for taking the time to put this together

Zoe Crockett

Weird. I thought Rich was the one who liked cats. Is Jay a cat person? I seem to remember a black cat in the "Cats or Christmas" and I thought it belonged to Rich.

DonMac

Rich has impressive carpentry skills. Gives him something to fall back on if this internets stuff doesn't work out.

AllGoodNamesRGone

For those who may not have caught it at the beginning, Mewgenics is the name of the game Mike and Rich were recording audio for. Steam has a release date of 2024.

Yuri Fassio

I could watch the guys do random chores for hours. Make it a series.

Michael Matzat

What was that Paris Hilton reality show called again? Anyway, if you can afford it to mess these things up you know you made it big time. Superstars!

Bort Ward

1. I was going to send you guys' my original 'Battlefield Earth' poster from when I worked at a theater in High School, but it went missing from my storage unit at some point. 2. Three friends in Wisconsin make internet bucks showing their daily routine and talking about crap VHS tapes. What an era to be alive. 3. 9:33, Jay's Midwest accent in full effect

Kurt

If professionals can leave the film on the plexiglass, then I can too.

David S

Mike’s line delivery on ‘meow’ is excellent.

adorned_in_thorns

The scream I gave seeing my Xtro cross stitch on that wall. Thank you guys.

Juho Huuki

You guys could make the table from clear epoxy, with the gremlin in it. It would protect it from decay and would be neat coffee table too.

Sara Iyer

Mike's purr almost sounds like Suburban Sasquatch.

schopi

Don't you just hate it when SOMEONE forgets to remove the protective coating before framing a poster? What is wrong with people like that, really?

andrew

The EPA is going to shut you down.

The Real Zam

The next one should be titled "Rich & Mike Accidentally Break Things."

John G

Rich is so impressive

Kelly Nguyen

This is my 5th time watching this video this week and I lose it every time when Mike rocks baby bink only to drop him to open up baby bink #2

The Real Zam

Waiting to see the jaundice Baby Bink in a "Dick The Birthday Boy" shirt.

Lord Humungus

Hi Mike. I thought I’d say hi to Mike as I can’t spell J.

Pressley Press

Any updates on the Gremlin? Where's the damn coffee table? ;-)
