Best of the Worst: Hawk the Slayer with the X-Ray Eyes

It's thyme for another Best of the Girth! In this episode, the gang watches three movies that will hopefully not get flagged by youtube's nonsensical bot system. Hooray!

Déjà vu

Jason DeMaria

YouTube eyes they’re watching you. They see your every move. Private eyes, they’re watching you, watching you, watching you, watching you.

Z Larkin Kelley

We need "Blue Letter Media" where all those Hayes Code rules get relaxed

Adam C.

They murdered Slaughter Day!

Charley Skira

Did Rich add The Dark while the video was down?

Lance Hunter

Of course the age restriction was because of that tiny glimpse of the VHS cover of John Greyson's Urinal. Youtube stamping out queer arthouse cinema!

Paul Scott

I had a lot of respect for the RLM guys until this video, but it turns out they are a bunch of filthy Krullites. Slayers forever!

Kurt

I want to ask which country celebrates Slaughter Day, but I think I already know…

Marvin Falz

I'm not the biggest fan of Rich Evans Boobery, but Rich Evans hitting himself with the VHS of Slaughter Day is really funny. Also, Mike's presence was missing in an otherwise really good episode. Looking forward to watch the episode again.

Marvin Falz

Krull and Never Say Never Again have something in common. Both of them are barely average movies, and on both of them at least one filmmaker worked who previously worked on movies that belong to the best movies ever. And both movies had potential to be good. Ian Kershaw directed Never Say Never Again. Ray Lovejoy edited Krull.

Davidhidekazu

Wait is this the first RLM video in 4k?

Michael B. Miley

Rich's minimal requirement for a BOTW film is that it have the mark of the beast on its cover.

Jim Tea

What’s up with Rich’s hair in the intro? Looks like some type of proto-Norwood dredlock action.

AllGoodNamesRGone

A Jack Packard and Tim Higgins episode? Ladies and gentlemen, we are eating good tonight.

Michael Parker

It's always nice when I find myself rewatching RLM videos then suddenly a new one drops.

Unfortunately Chris

Did you guys not recognize Reese from Malcolm in the Middle?

Amy Nelson

Excellent, hilarious episode. Thank you so much guys ☺️❤️

Amazing Spidergram

Whenever Mike isn't there I always feel like the other guys broke into the studio.

Isaac Shumard

Is posting to Vimeo or another platform ever a consideration?

Michael Parker

I was right about The Kid With X-Ray Eyes! Goes to show how not discerning of quality I was as a kid that I didn’t hate it or find it boring when I watched it.

Tarami Bedona

If it's any consolation, I think this is the best BotW you've done in a long time, possibly years. That's not to say I hate any of it, but the jokes were on point (Pepsi shot through my nose when Jay dropped that Simpsons reference) and the ending bit was wonderful.

Elliott Kilday

B roll of the car in kid with x-ray eyes is death race 2000 that is the car David Carradine drove

Now that the sequel to Breath of the Wild is out, you should make a new series with the acronym TOTK just to further the confusion.

bertsy

Initial age-restriction was definitely the algorithm being overloaded by 4K Rich Evans.

Nada Leona Sheppard

I really expected you guys to use Silly String on whatever film you decided was Worst.

Armando Quinones

this episode was so good.. I hope Jack is ok.. and silly string was first sold in the late 60s..

Neil Peart, Lord of Drums

For goodness' sake, would you fuckers just watch Death Kick already? I have no idea what it is, have never looked it up, and know absolutely nothing about it...except that IT'S CALLED DEATH KICK! Surely that should be enough. Anyway, I was watching the episode with Robot in the Family the other day, and every time Rich Evans descends into a laughing fit, all I can think is, "man, I hope I can get that much joy out of life one day." Rich Evans is my hero :)

Neil Peart, Lord of Drums

Oh, forgot: Was Rich's David Carradine joke the best one made by the boys so far? There have been so many that I can't say for certain, but holy shit, that was brilliant.

cynthia

Really surprised nobody clocked the kid actor in The Kid w/the X-ray Eyes as Reese from Malcolm in the Middle!

Erik Sheedlo

Jay: Where's the goggles, who has the goggles, we need to get the goggles. Rich: Jay...your losing me.

Bill Wilson

Might have been pointed out already, but there is a mistake in the credits: Mike is credited instead of Tim. Someone needs to get fired for that blunder. In other news, the academy should introduce an award for shot on VHS movies directed by twins. Seems not so uncommon.

nebuloider

Aw shucks no Stoklasa magic !? Hey Jack, bring the funnies.

InMyLastBreaths

The boys are trying to pull a fast one on us, replacing the actor who plays Mike with Tim and thinking we won't notice the difference. Can't fool me end credits!!

Robert Dodrill

I notice in X-ray eyes the goggles are the same type of goggles used for Ecto-Goggles in Ghostbusters

Daniel

Another banger. Enjoyed.

DonMac

I didn't like the grading on a curve vote. An A for effort means little when the results get an F. If the guys had to rewatch just one of these movies, "Hawk the Slayer" should win that pick easily for actually having some repeat value.

Lee Noble

As a Brit you disappointed me by identifying an actor as “the dad from Charlie & The Chocolate Factory”. Literally every single English person* would immediately recognise Roy Kinnear, father of Rory Kinnear, who died while filming The Four Musketeers in the 80s. The horse he was riding slipped on cobbles. They kept it in. *over 48

Jessie Zimmer

This may be my favorite table lineup. Excellent episode, fellas. Had me giggling from beginning to end. It's always good to see Jack at the table. And now that Tim has his beard back, all feels right with the world. Rich, you were on fire the whole episode. Bravo for beating Jack to the daddy joke. :D

adorned_in_thorns

Episodes w/o Mike have kids home while the parents are out vibes. Awesome video fellas, laughed a lot.

andrew

Jack’s back. Jack’s Back.

Tim Kocher

Hawk the Slayer forever!!!!

Jermania

Kind of horrifying that Mike was wearing Tim's skin in this episode.

Keith Feinstein

Silly String was around in the mid-70s for sure. They knew what it was--they used it anyway.

Bort Ward

I wonder if David Carradine got turned on by the "Choke yourself" line from 'Full Metal Jacket'?

Carly

Rich's joke about David Carradine just sucked all the air out of the room. Can't believe he would make light of someone's death. He should hang his head in shame!

Emily Hall

Did anyone notice "woman" from Hawk the Slayer was played by Patricia Quinn, Magenta from Rocky Horror Picture Show?

Gavin Redmond

That was brilliant I popped both my hernias laughing so much.
