Half in the Bag: The Exorcist: Believer

The power of Christ compels Mike and Jay to see another trash rebootquel cash grab soft-reboot sequel remake. This time, David Gordon Green and Blunhouse have got their dirty, disgusting hands on The Exorcist, one of Jay's favorite movies of all time. Is the movie any good???????? What do you think?????

The thumbnail is more Picard than Picard (season 3)! So I can only imagine this movie meets with the Kurtzman Seal of Quality.

Tomas

Well now I want Mike to do reviews of wine and release an RLM wine range

Joe Triscari

Are the AIDS awareness trading cards going to be discussed? I really hope so.

Marvin Falz

I'm convinced now. I want to watch The Exorcist and The Exorcist III. And I'm going to, probably even before I'm dead and rotting in my grave. But I don't care to watch any movie by David Gordon Green, least The Exorcist: Believer.

Stephanie Lloyd

I'm not sure if the patriarchy will allow me to watch this...

Is the new hollywood model, to just crank out some garbage, cause they know you're going to show up, then later, get serious about a good movie, then they know you'll show up again, even if you got burned on the last one, cause the buzz is good this time. Repeat.

Robyn Nelson

Wonderful review & the editing is 🔥

Bill Wilson

Did Linda Blair (aka The Exorcist) finally get revenge on Pazuzu? And no showdown between Exorcist wine and Coppola wine. I am disappointment.

Manuel Johnen

Jay named his cat Pater Karras...?

Jeremy _

I am my town's Park Bench Guy.

Juan Calvo

Pazuzu at this point is a funnier character than we've ever had.

Patrick Brennan

I was sure Mike was going to use the head scissors to finally cut Jay's hair

Great discussion, fellas. You covered everything. I'm glad Jay mentioned the piling on of bad movies, which happens a lot these days. I guess the hive mind in us all wants to make the same jokes. Sometimes it's just better to leave it to the hack frauds.

A new horror film with a more fresh specific take on demonic possession horror is the Argentinian film When Evil Lurks. I thought that was pretty good. That's going to be streaming on Shudder in a couple weeks. I caught a theatrical screening of that this past weekend instead of seeing this new Exorcist movie. I think I made the right choice.

Rebecca

Was waiting all day for this. Excellent as always, I give it 5 Pazuzi.

Kellic

Jay named his cat Pazuzu? ;) :D

Dustin Walker

Do you guys not upload (Previously Recorded) shorts to the RLM shorts channel because of the….”PATRIARCHY?”

Starsight

To be fair, Burke Dennings is an excellent name for a cat

AJ Unsihuay

I felt like I could taste how bad that wine was through the screen😂

Robby Chambrella

You guys should have seen “when evil lurkes” that came out this weekend. Such a great and different possession movie in a world post religion.

andrew

As always, your hypothetical endings are better than the real thing.

Amanda Foster

Is it okay that I have the biggest crush on Jay and now it’s even bigger cuz we share a mutual love for the original The Exorcist?

Jeremy _

Sure, Hollywood you'd have a witch doctor at an exorcism. Now do a movie about the Christian priest you traditionally invite to your kids bar mitzvah. Go on. Why are you making that face?

saltyD

So we are taking the bold stance that William Friedkin makes better movies than David Green and Danny McBride?

DonMac

I saw this movie in a Dolby Cinema theatre, sitting in a center seat. But an ideal presentation couldn't save this movie. Once it started with all the dark cinematography in every scene, I thought "oh crap, this movie is going to suck." This movie deserves a special Razzie award with the category "Sequel That's Actually Worse Than 'Exorcist II: The Heretic'"

Jermania

BTW, there already is a movie involving the paranormal that is anti-patriarchy and, more importantly, understands what the patriarchy is. It's called Rosemary's Baby.

Alessio Roic

Jay's disdain for this movie was a like a fresh crisp fall breeze. Refreshing.

Alessio Roic

I think in the Movie they were not inclusive enough in their "exorcism by religious minestrone" approach. Where were the Scientologists?! And the Pastafarians?! And what about aromatherapy, essential oil folks, Reiki folks?! What if it is not a possession but a 442 Mhz resonance in their chakra?!??!?! DOX THEM AND CANCEL THEM!!!

Alessio Roic

I missed the director was DG Green. Master of the useless reboot. This is cinematographical necrophilia, please stop, Hollywood.

Line Behr

Jay seems to like the Exorcist's wine ^^

DonMac

Given that they have reviewed the original Exorcist and Part III, they should review the spiritual sequel 'The Ninth Configuration' to complete the William Peter Blatty trilogy.
