Zhea Erose - Sola [music video/microtonal] (Patreon)

I'm so excited and proud to bring my Patrons this new work! I poured my heart and soul into this constantly for the last 8 days.  I did around 1,500 vocal takes. I learned so much more about singing in the process and I'm so excited to share that with my fem singing students. <3

This piece is really special to me. This was the first time I felt like I could "move away" from voice and dedicate myself to a big art project since I have been teaching voice and making voice resources. This piece reminds me of everything I've ever made and simultaneously nothing I've made. I feel this is the clearest work I have made and it's the "closest" piece to me as a person. It's almost kind of overwhelming when I listen to it and feels almost too vulnerable.

This piece is created in two primary tuning systems: 31-equal temperament and Just Intonation. The instruments are mostly in 31 and the voice is primarily in Just. As a result, this piece has way cleaner intonation than the vast majority polyphonic music made at this point in history (excluding vocal acapella).
