[Important] Overhauling the story (and the MC) (Patreon)

Hey everyone,

I've been listening to your reviews and opinions, and I've decided to make some big changes to the game.

Recently, I played through the beginning part of the game while sober, and it opened my eyes. Especially the scene where the MC meets the queen for the first time, she slaps him and then immediately starts fucking him. It felt REALLY jarring. I get that this is a "porn game" at the end of the day, but come on... I understand now why some people were turned off by that.

After going through a bunch of negative reviews and replies on F95 and other sites, I've grouped most of the criticism into three main issues:

The MC is apathetic and bland. (This one showed up the most.)

Lack of character development. Sex scenes often happen right after meeting a character.

Pacing problems.

I’ll be addressing these in the next update by adding more in between scenes to help with pacing. I doubt it'll ever be truly fixed, because I personally prefer when events move quickly (blame my fried brain for that), but it should be a noticeable improvement.

Characters will be introduced earlier and given more time to interact with MC so players can get to know them, maybe even help them with something before the sex happens. For example, I've already moved the queen's sex scene much later in the story, after the MC has done some favors for her.

As for the MC, my original intention was to make him a blank canvas so players could easily self insert. I guess I went too far. Recently, I played yakuza 7 (amazing game btw you should check it out) and loved the energy that Ichiban has, so I want to give the MC a bit of that liveliness going forward.

Regarding new content in the next update, I'm not entirely sure yet, we'll see. I'll also do my best not to fuck around with variables so players who don't want to start a newgame can continue from where they left off at the end of update 0.3.1.

Existing scenes will have updated dialogue to better match the new tone of the game. Others will stay the same, and a few might be removed entirely.

I've been enjoying it so far. Only thing that bugged me was the brothel lady. Wish she was like the owner or something (hasn't been with many people). Everything else has been fine to me, well...other than anal only with the blacksmiths daughter. Hopefully it'll come out just as good when done. Have a great rest of your week :)

I can understand why you want to make changes. Although I don't think the changes have to be big. Ok, the change with the queen and her speed is actually true and a gift. I don't think the MC is so " blank" at all. Maybe that comes with the decisions you make and the "honor" system. That the MC then shows some character and is either a shining knight or a power-hungry ass. (He's also a horn-dog anyways :p) That simply comes with time or can be more emphasized with the decisions and dialogues that refer to it. And I think the speed is balanced. Characters with whom it goes faster, and others like Rebecca/Alex/the Queen's sister slower. The fact that the MC first has sex with some women (and knocks them up) and then gets to know them, like Maia and Diana, has something. Or the village where he just takes everyone, makes as many children as possible and then disappears (and returns later? Let's see what you have planned there) is also very cool. On sites like F95, you can look around and listen to criticism, but it's not uncommon for those who are unhappy to be louder and debates can sometimes get nasty there. In the end, it's your game and your vision. It's been great so far (and if I've seen it correctly, Him's recession of around 4.0 on F95 has also been really good so far). Stick to your ideas, it's been the right decision so far I think :D

I honestly didn't have an issue with how things are rn it felt different to other AVNs with compulsory character arc. But if this makes the game better I'm all for it. Also I thought LIs like Diana were a slow burn since we had sex with her and i managed to get her pregnant but the relationship is still building up

Yeah I think it would be better to make the MC more empathetic as the story progresses. Have him start out as pretty bleak but later on develops more emotions and feelings when he connects to the LIs

Yeah hopefully we can get to grow the relationship with her and get her out of that brothel asap in the coming updates

Like you said, this is porn game. No need waste time on dialogue or back story. I'd prefer more sex scene (options to interact during sex ) , maybe some blackmail? Just me . Thank for keep updating .

The game is fine, but as you say, it needs some polish. Some examples: the queen scene is frustrating to say the least, as is the fact that the wife, with whom you're forced to be, is so strongly opposed to the harem that she forces you to be faithful or cheat on her (which isn't right). Overall, the queen seemed like a character created solely to be hated, as was the princess. And they're nailing it. Also, it would be nice to include a default name for the protagonist. Overall, you should improve the points you've made and possibly something else, like the minigames. I haven't played them, but from the comments, they seem more like a source of frustration than entertainment.

Please don't make the MC another one of those virtuous dense doormats. Can't stand playing as those guys. Confident, competent and assertive is the way.

I'm happy with the game so far but if you think making some few tweaks will improve it then go for it. But I do think that a major change or even a remake is highly unnecessary. Like you said the Queen's sex scene was a bit odd but other than that I really don't see any problem.

The game is perfect as is. Please continue as you are doing so far. I love the pace of the story. You can't please everyone. What makes this game interesting and unique is the quality renders, pace, character and still having a great storyline. Good luck, keep it going

Hey, I just finished playing your game for the first time today, and ended up wanting more and really enjoying every single bit of it. No boring dialogues or useless filler scenes, just how I like it. And I joined your Patreon (free tier, for now), only to stumble upon this post... what the hell is the problem with some people? This game is near perfect as is. But if you're going to make some tweaks here and there in the story progression, I guess that's fine. I only wanted to let you know you've done an amazing job so far. Keep up the amazing work!

So You made a game for people that are actually coming for p*** in a p*** game, not an erotic novel, I would advice against switching to another audience at this stage of development

The game is good and I originally wanted to buy a longer membership, but now after reading this post I'm really hesitant. I'll probably wait until the next update, because if it changes the whole concept, there's a big risk that it won't be interesting anymore. Of course it's good when the content is added and dialogues are polished, but remaking it into something else doesn't sound good to me.

The game is fine as it is. Four stars on f95 is a good average, lowered by morons who give the lowest rating to a game they haven't bought (because they never buy games, they just steal them).

I enjoy the story as it is right now, I just feeling that the character could be more dominant in some scenes, or taking the world were the story is getting place could be more raw in some social dynamics.
