Kusakabe stared blankly to his left. Panda, who had been running beside him, had half of his body swept by a laser, sliced in two on the spot.
The helpless-looking Panda struggled to stuff the cotton back into his body, after which his form began to shrink continuously, turning into a small Panda less than half a meter tall.
Seeing Panda shrink, the heart that had been in Kusakabe's throat finally settled back down.
"You scared me, I thought you were dead."
Then, neither slowed their pace, running toward the edge of Shibuya.
"Don't worry, Kusakabe-sensei. I'm a Cursed Corpse. Unless I'm turned to ash in an instant, I can survive. Let's hurry and escape Shibuya."
Kusakabe sighed, gripping the sword at his waist tightly. Despite being covered in bandages from head to toe, he was actually running slightly faster than Panda.
"The current Shibuya is no longer a place for people of our level to participate. This is a time ruled by the Special Grade, anyone of our level will die instantly if they even get grazed."
Kusakabe looked up at the giant mech hovering in the sky, as well as the Flame Dragons and the pillar of light, his lip twitching.
"All the alive human Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerers have already joined in, along with so many Special Grade Cursed Spirits, and the King of Curses, Sukuna, has entered the fray. Now, a mech has appeared too. Shibuya is truly becoming more and more insane."
Although Panda's body was small, his two short legs were moving so fast they were almost a blur.
A subtle ripple passed through the air, and the high-rise building behind Panda suddenly erupted with a sky-filling cloud of dust, collapsing with a roar.
Panda's body stiffened. He felt something pass through his midsection, and he was sliced in two on the spot.
"Panda!"
Kusakabe stopped, rushing over with a worried face, wanting to check if Panda was alright.
The cotton from the sliced-in-two Panda spilled all over the ground, and his body shrank by another 50%, looking just like a figurine.
"I've shrunk too small this time. If this happens a few more times, I'll really die. Kusakabe-sensei, let's retreat."
Under the cover of night, a figure resembling a mummy, wrapped from head to toe in bandages, and a pitifully small Panda figurine were running for their lives through the dilapidated city.
...
"Hmph!"
A fist slammed down. Cracks like spiderwebs spread continuously from the point of impact, and a large crater exploded in the ground.
Looking around, this suburban area was already devastated, with pockmarks and craters everywhere, along with broken branches littering the ground.
Hanami couldn't help but complain internally: Is this really still a human? The power of each punch is enough to shatter a building. This punch was at least 100 tons to start with.
Yuki's face was filled with excitement as Garuda circled continuously in the air.
"You're quite strong. Among Special Grade Cursed Spirits, you're already among the best. This is the first time I've met a Cursed Spirit as powerful as you. I can feel that you've already been heavily injured, yet you've managed to hold out against me for so long. It's truly amazing."
Hanami's left arm, which had always been wrapped in white cloth, was already unleashed. At this moment, they pressed their hands together, and a voice emanated.
"I must thank you for the compliment, Tsukumo Yuki. Your strength is greater than mine, and furthermore, I am heavily injured. I will definitely lose fighting against you. But so what? It won't be an easy task for you to take me down. I won't just let myself be slaughtered."
As the Cursed Energy within their body flowed, petals of bright red surged. These petals carried a potent paralyzing toxin and would explode upon contact.
Yuki scanned her surroundings, discovering that she was surrounded by petals from all directions, and a smile unconsciously curled at the corner of her lips.
"If you think you can trap me like this, then you are a bit naive."
As her words fell, she suddenly erupted with waves of Cursed Energy, then swung her palm forward, turning a full circle around herself. A massive wave of air formed under the push of her palm, blowing those petals away and dissipating them.
Hanami's expression became even uglier. Just as they wanted to cast another Cursed Technique, a figure rushed into their field of vision, catching them off guard.
Not good!
A fist landed on their abdomen, causing it to sink deeply inward. Their entire body flew backward, smashing into a mountain a kilometer away.
The life force on their body weakened further, and purple blood flowed continuously from their facial features. They struggled to crawl out of the crater they had crashed into, their eyes filled with confusion.
"Can I really win this battle?"
—
The always arrogant and overbearing King of Curses had once single-handedly ended the golden age of Jujutsu, becoming the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer in history.
But now, this King of Curses entertained the thought of fleeing from a battle for the very first time.
His current injuries were far too severe. Jogo's sneak attack had dealt him a heavy blow, causing immense damage to his internal organs. Right now, even standing up was a struggle.
Why were those Flame Dragons fake?
The aura of Cursed Energy on them was clearly so real. How could a flame Cursed Technique reach such a level?
